snoop1130
BANGKOK (NNT) - Analysts are noting that Thailand has the potential to make a global impact through "soft power," attracting more tourists and investors to help revitalize its economy in the aftermath of the global pandemic. A discussion took place during the official announcement of Mahidol University making the top 50 global universities for performing arts in this year’s World University Ranking List. The press conference was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. According to Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, President of the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO), the ranking could mark a vital step towards rebranding Thailand as a nation that utilizes its diverse cultural heritage to promote tourism and attract more businesses to the kingdom. She also emphasized how effectively using soft power can help generate revenue while also reflecting Thai culture and society on a global scale. Meanwhile, Anek Laothamatas, Thailand’s Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, congratulated Mahidol University for achieving its three-year goal strategy within one year. He added that this achievement is a giant step for the performing arts and demonstrates the effectiveness of a systematic approach and good management. The minister also expressed hope that this success, combined with recent accomplishments by Thai artists on global stages, would allow Thailand to build a new creative economy that integrates cultural and artistic aspects in order to influence the world, rather than simply relying on politics and diplomacy. -- © Copyright NNT 2022-04-27 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Jerno
Buzz, buzz, buzz. Used to be Hubs. Everything going to be a hub in Thailand, then Thailand 4.0 whatever that was, and now Soft Power whatever the hell that is! Tired of the talking heads of this Gov't and their stupid ideas and fancy bs. Edited April 29, 2022 by Jerno Edit
mtls2005
"Soft Power"? This year's "Sufficiency Economy"? Other than food, most thai "cultural" aspects just don't translate outside the country. I mean anyone can smile. Yes, there's the occasional break-out, seemingly always women (entertainment, sport), but honestly, give up on the gimmicks and do the work. Open up society, and creativity will naturally emerge. But that's not really what the PtB want now is it?

Because diplomacy and political stability require time, effort, flexibility and a willingness to see the others point of view, often requiring compromise. However getting someone to eat a bowl of food on stage or wear a particular item of clothing, well now, that’s a much easier option.
herfiehandbag
It is only a question of time before: 1) TAT produce statistics to show what a roaring success "soft power" has been. 2) Some character with a tight uniform plastered in bling appears on prime time TV to announce that various warrants are to be issued for using the wrong, or fake, "soft power".
