Brunei's active Covid-19 instances are decreasing as the children's vaccination programme progresses

The number of current Covid-19 cases in Brunei has reduced to 740, with 11 patients receiving treatment in hospitals and 729 cases undergoing home self-isolation.


Yesterday, 102 instances were discovered, with 84 coming from antigen rapid testing (ART) and 18 coming from 639 RT-PCR laboratory tests conducted in the previous 24 hours.


At the regular press conference in the capital, Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Mohd Isham Jaafar announced this.

 

According to the minister, 181 cases have been declared recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 140,892. One case is in Category 5, requiring acute care, and no patients are currently in Category 4.


Meanwhile, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham announced on Friday that 216 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were given to children aged five to eleven, raising the total number of children in this age group who had received the vaccination to 20,647. (48.1 per cent).


The second dose was given to 131 youngsters, bringing the total to 963. (2.5 per cent).


The booster rate for COVID-19 is 65.3 percent.
