I'm just guessing and maybe barking up the wrong tree as some bikes have an automatic cut-out to stop this happening. Anyway, a moot point as you got it fixed under warranty. A brilliant story with great photos and the CT is a funky looking bike - I'm impressed that it has a rear disc. I'm almost 70 and these days my maximum in the saddle at one stretch is about an hour before I need a pit (ice cream) stop and when I first started reading I thought you would be a young whipper-snapper but clearly you look after yourself better than the vast majority. When i came off the engine was turned on straight away, i can't see that was the issue. It was a great ride for sure, thanks ????

I will follow Honda's recommended oil until out of warranty ????

The bottom half of the engine is splash lubricated. The oil pump is on the RHS and only provides oil to lubricate the valve gear.

VocalNeal
I had some Yamaha oil that I didn't put in a bigger bike so I used that. Good enough for a splash fed Honda.

It was still quite far from the border but the track stops there. https://goo.gl/maps/h6bkZ9BtQgPuoj4f6 On the way I stopped at Pranburi reservoir for a quick photo stop then a great ride up to Ban Pa Mak, the last 10 km or so were graded track or in places rough track. https://www.relive.cc/view/v1Ow9nGxNXq One of my favorite places is a campsite nearby,i was there a few days ago and it was cold!Around 8 pm the dew was already running down my tent.It is only 100km from my place and i go when ever i can.
