     It will be interesting to see how condo projects handle this.  My spouse and I have a Bangkok condo and, so far, there are no charging stations at the condo.  I think, though, as more people buy EVs, there will be pressure put on condo committees by these owners to have charging stations installed. 

    I'm not sure how projects will deal with the fire safety issue if they only have underground or garage-type parking.  The BKK condo does have some open-air surface parking and some of this could be used for charging stations; it is far enough away from the condo building to keep the building safe, should a fire occur.  I noticed at our last visit that some of this parking has now been blocked off so, perhaps, residents are being prepared to lose this parking to charging stations down the road.   I'm curious if any readers live at a condo project that has installed charging stations and, if so, where they were installed.

Had a separate payment for it and I had a chanote for it

most of the dc charging networks will offer some deald with the juristic person to share profit/rent but only if the area to put the DC charger in is accessible by the public, that measn guest car park area

 

even in condos with plugs in the pariing area for PHEVs, most are still doing the manual method of having the maintenance guy read the meter and add that to the bill, I've heard of case where some co-owners donate theri wall box + installation to the condos as to save them having to use the granny slow charger

The condo residents that want a connection should pay for it themselves. It would be wrong to make all residents pay for something only a few use.

If car owners have a dedicated car park, shouldn't be a problem to install their own charging connection.

The same could be argued for gyms, pools and other facilities that's popular now like co-working space/library-studies 

you may not use it yourself but in order to make the co-owners agree, you you could spin in that it affects the resaleability of the condo - consider your exisitng condo and newer builds with EV charging.... 
plus it generates money and cashflow for the condo

If this correct and he “plugs” in to charge, one wonders whether he actually owns such a car? Unless he means plug in a fuel nozzle so that the ICE charges the small 1kwh or so battery while driving? Lol

There are many cars for sale that are hybrid plugins.Their description is hybrid plug in. 

 

A hybrid can be a PLUG IN, or a FULL hybrid as shown in the video earlier.

It is precisely because some committees may stop EV charging points being installed that I think the government will legislate at some point that there have to be X charging points per Y condo units.

 

If Central Group allow EV charging in their multi-storey car parks and presumably carry insurance then I think they might know better than ignorant or prejudiced condo committee members.

I for one would not want to be on the 27th floor 
They can charge all they want at multi-storey car parks as this would not concern me .

You do know that an ICE car is between 12 and 130 times MORE likely to catch fire than an EV?

We are all within our rights to be concerned and alarmed about EV fires.

 

Most ICE fires can be put out by most people (average Joe). 

 

Most EV fires requires specialists team and specialists equipment to contain.

How many ICE cars catch fire when sitting in a car park? Normally takes a collision to do that.

I've got a hybrid, it's got a hybrid logo but I can't call it a hybrid because it's not a FULL hybrid, it's a plug in hybrid. 😂

 

The manufacturer has a sign saying hybrid, it's next to their logo's, they attach these hybrid logo's when attaching their emblems when the cars are manufactured. 

 

Maybe the owners of full hybrid call them FULL hybrid instead of arguing the point, seems some here have a narcissistic attitude to me.

Our residents have BMW, BYD, Deepal, MG, Neta and Tesla. I see random cars charging during the days when passing the building.

The statistics I quoted include parked vehicles, ICE cars do catch fire when parked.

 

Being concerned about car fires is one thing, stopping charging in condos when better and more qualified minds than yours have already determined they are safe in shopping center multi-storey car parks is safe, smacks of ignorance or prejudice to me.
