I'm sure he will be familiar to some members on here but I haven't got a clue who he is or what he does. I really can't be bothered to look into his background.

 

All I know is he is having a 'tear up' (if that is the correct expression?) with Mike Tyson tomorrow night? What's that all about?

 

I saw on BBC news earlier that there was some bizarre press conference. This Paul bloke wore a diamond encrusted ear guard (which I assume is a reference to Tyson/Holyfield 1997). I then read that it turned a bit strange with Tony Bellew ( who I am aware of - Liverpool cruiserweight ((so not big enough to scrap with the proper big boys))) storming the stage with a microphone that wasn't working so nobody had a clue what he was banging on about.

 

Tyson hasn't fought professionally for nudging 20 years. He is 30+ years older than Jake Paul. Supposedly, this Paul fella is getting circa $40m from the show/fight/cabaret. No idea what Iron Mike's cut is (although I assume he is desperate for a few £/$.

 

Can anyone shed any light on what this is all about? I assume a money spinner for the two involved, promoters, TV/online revenue, merchandise etc.

 

By the way, I hope Tyson puts the fella on his back.

 

As an aside, I'm putting it out there that I formally challenge Liverpool Lou to a 'tear up' (still not sure if that is what it's called?) as long as all ASEAN Now members stump up a combined guaranteed purse of 2,000 baht. ( We'll split it Lou, it's a few beers each and I'll take a dive in the second round but keep that between you and me😉).

Stroll on. How old are you, fella? 😋 Probably been news for 12 months. Along with his brother, Paul is one of those YouTube ‘personalities’-turned boxer. A mouthpiece, but one that can actually box. Would be no match for Tyson Prime. Still unsure whether it’ll be a no-holds barred, genuine bout; more so about the purse.
