Markets Rebound as US and China agree to slash tariffs for 90 days
We would certainly rather not pay attention to you and your 'Trump is never wrong!' modus operandi, but since you seem compelled to insert yourself in every conversation and denigrate anyone with a differing opinion as some left wing lunatic, we unfortunately have to listen to your absurd assertions time and time again. They never come with any facts. They don't have any figures and have only a tenuous grasp of any reality the vast majority of us are seeing and living in. But that's the cross you've chosen to die on so expect the more coherent and sensible on here to pull your nonsense up every single time. So one last time (not necessarily for you as I know you won't listen). Trump starting all this tariff nonsense, he was the one that poked the bear. When markets reacted (especially the bond markets) he was forced into (yet another) backtrack of his ill-fated plan. Off he trots, cap in hand to China. Desperate for a deal (The Art of The Deal my a$$) he needed to show his 'genius' was going to be good for the American public. In the end he simply backed down and gave China what it wanted and slashed tariffs on Chinese goods from 125% to 10%, for at least 90 days. An earlier additional levy of 20% designed to punish China for its role in the fentanyl trade will remain in place, but its specificity suggests it could be negotiable. America halved a separate 120% tariff on e-commerce packages valued below $800 which enter America via a separate “de-minimis” customs regime (https://www.economist.com/china/2025/05/13/a-great-trade-victory-over-america-is-being-celebrated-in-china). And what did China give in return? A reciprocal 10% on American goods. Some deal making that. And Trump and the Trump loyalists like yourself think for some bizarre reason it's a win. It reminds me of that rather apt analogy about the pigeon - “Never play chess with a pigeon. The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over, then $hits all over the board and struts around like it won.” -

Really? Have you read the news in Britain over the last 5-10 years ?, it seems to be the youth of Britains favourite pastime, knife crime in the UK is out of control, and now the braindead younger generation are swarming over Thailand like lice, you can expect them to import their love of drugs, knives and violence along with it. -

Teen Footballer Cleared in Transgender Comment Case Seeks Apology from FA
The Supreme court beat them to it. Laughable to expect the current 'progressive' Labour gov to do anything about it. Isn't it strange that they back down when these things go viral. It's almost like they know they are doing something wrong and try to hide it.
