How does 99 baht breakfast really taste like?

Featured Replies

I've been hearing a lot about this 99 baht breakfast. The city this breakfast is served is mostly Pattaya and sometimes  it seems to involve this extra bonus called black pudding.

I am very curious about this breakfast. How does it taste like? Is it a good value for money?

Not for me, I'd go maybe once a month only after a 7am binge, beer drinking session with my Thai mates.

I decline the black pudding and deep fried bread, in return I get extra slices of white (am I allowed to say that?) bread. 👍

Edit:  Uh-oh!

It seems some people, maybe many people, eat food just to get their calories and vitamins and all that.

Others want to enjoy what they eat. And some, me mostly included, only like to eat if it tastes really good.

I am sure I would have lots to complain about that cheap breakfast, cheap bread, cheap ham, the list will be long.

Others will say they had enough to eat, and it was value for money. Not same.

One of my favorites is Iberico ham, I love it for breakfast. And I love decent fresh multigrain bread. Obviously, I can't expect that for 99THB.

If you start talking about quality, that is a different matter, it becomes a matter of personal taste. I had a cheap breakfast at the Easybar a couple of days ago, struggled to eat the bacon and the sausage was terrible. Won't be going back.

Better paying a bit more for English breakfast in the 150 to 200 range.

If a pharmaceutical company found a way to make excrement delicious would you eat it?

Cheap food, especially meats are made delicious using compounds that if you took them intravenously you'd be called an addict.

The question shouldn't be what it tastes like but rather what it actually is made of.

How true.

I see these guys in cheap Charlie's on Buakhou every day, scoffing their hideous meal, 99 baht breakfast.

Me too...

I tried CC once - never again - as far is its concerned, IMO, "you get what you pay for", which comment generally applies to all cheap meal deals.

In passing, there are at least 3 places that I prefer within 5 minutes walk of CC - on Soi Bukhau and Soi Lengke. None of them offers a 99Baht breakfast but are, to me vastly better quality-wise and, therefore still VFM  As I say...IMO

So you thing that buying so called quality ingredients for a family from the a shop/supermarket is cheaper than the bulk buying that a restaurant pays?

''How does it taste?''  I don't think it can taste.  Given that it is a breakfast.

Oh wait, did you mean ''what'' does it taste like?

I'd expect it to taste on par with the cheap nasty crap it was made with.

In Serbian what does it tastes like makes zero sense, so i will keep using how

I ain't waking up, taking a shower, drive somewhere, for crappy 99 baht brekkie.   I deserve better, and way too lazy to settle for less.

I could do a much better 99 baht brekkie at home, fresh, quality ingredients, hot being hot, cold being cold, good toast properly toasted, and all that in my underwear, without the need to drive anywhere.

All done & eaten in less time it took to get to where every and order.  Along with a much better setting, in & looking out of the house.

There's CC / thrifty living, and then there's self induced misery.  Hopefully people have more respect for themselves :coffee1:

So... You have absolutely zero idea of what a 99 baht breaky consists of, but your 100% sure it ain't good. 😂😂 Can you say dunning-kruger? 😂😂

Common thought for most replies, including mine are,  you pay crap amount of money, expect to receive crap.

Do you plan to answer the OP, or just trolling every reply.

Or are we special ???   Are you really that bored, or are we really that special 😎
