What is the most comprehensive test to check my heart for blockages or potential future problems...?

I did have some of the basic tests but I want something more thorough.

Not worried about expense.

Thanks

Heart CT Scan, recently have done one after a problem showed up during a Exercise Stress Test.

I would suggest:

1. Coronary Calcium CT

2. Exercise Stress Test

The first is the best way to check for calcium deposits in the coronary arteries.

The second will test your overall cardiac fitness and how well the heart performs under stress.

I am assuming you have already had blood tests for risk factors (lipid panel, HB1Ac) and also that you are asymptomatic.

why do you have a heart doctor? Are you symptomatic/do you have history of heart disease? As this might alter recommendation

I had a stent put in about ten years ago... I was having a little tightness in my chest after recent exercise and I wasn't;t sure if it was a slight muscle pull...

Give up that for a while, see if it gets any better.

I personally do very little exercise, and have no chest problems!   555

Along with the other suggestions, if cost is truly not an issue throw in an angiogram to see the current state of your arteries.

You're not a doctor. Keep this in mind. Always. No diagnosis, no treatments, no recommendations.

the op did not post on here to obtain information from a doctor, for that i assume he would speak to a 'Doctor'

Op is in contact with a heart specialist already and got multiple problems. Only a qualified doctor can help him, not anyone here on AN.

I am doubtful a doctor would agree to do an angiogram (invasive procedure with some risks) in an asymptomatic person unless other tests (EST, CT) indicated likely blicjage.

you dont treat high triglycerides with meds!!!!!!

that is just putting on a band aid for goodness sake

you have to address why your triglycerides are high...........dont you realise that?

adjust your diet.........lose weight.......exercise more........then test your tris again...........jeez

OP got a specialized Doctor already who will know the history (anamnesis).

There are many tests (risky) available. However, OP is free to consult another specialist in a different hospital. At the end OP should discuss his case with a doctor he trusts.

Experiences are personal, not able to be copied. Every case is too different for generalisation.

In addition don't forget OP uses already the advice of his heart specialist. I doubt this Doctor would need advice by "experienced laypersons"

The absolute gold standard to check the complete status of your heart is an angiogram!

Angiograms are invasive and not without risk, so usually only performed if uninvasive tests, or symptoms, indicate a likely problem.

Exercise but more importantly a better diet leads to healthy low triglycerides

Daily omega 3s will lower them. And weight control.
