Downloaded and watched a movie I don't remember seeing before, called, "Ride with the Devil" starring Tobey Maguire, Skeet Ullrich and Jewell and whilst it wasn't all bad, it was by no means a "blockbuster", in fact it did extremely poorly at the box office, mainly because of distribution rights and associated problems.

Although it was produced and directed by Ang Lee, it wasn't his usual high-class effort, and indeed it ended on an "unfulfilled note".

Pluribus, done by Vince Gillian of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame, just reeks of the ambiance of both those shows. A delight to watch!

Hello Tomorrow is an 8 part series with an unusual mix of 50’s Midwest USA and sci fi ( 50’s style cars which hover !! ) but it is all done exceptionally well.

The story revolves around a bunch of timeshare salesmen selling real estate on the moon !!

 

A dark comedy sci fi drama with some great characters:

Hank Azaria plays Eddie, one of the timeshare salesmen with a severe gambling habit determined to win enough to take his girl to the moon.

Billy Crudup plays Jack, head of the timeshare operation with more than a few skeletons in his closet !!

MG takes over from Bruce Willis in the “ old guy single-handedly takes on the Mob/Cartel/Brotherhood “ role.

It is cliched but not offensive, not to be taken seriously, its escapism and quite a good attempt.

The usual maniacal leader of the opposition attempts his best to be menacing and the inevitable showdown between him and MG is over all too soon leaving one thinking “ is that it ? “

It is a familiar story, imdb give it 6.6 stars, that might be a little generous but if you are stuck for something to watch give it a go.

 

All Her Fault      

8 episodes all out...Crime --Kidnapping .....IMDB 7.6/10.  I didn't expect a lot from this but turned out quite watchable,. especially if you enjoy whodunnits.

Suppose to be set Chicago---but If you come from Melbourne you may spot some land marks .

Tried to watch it, however found it boring so deleted it after episode 3, but thanks for the tip on it anyway!

yeah, I enjoyed that too .. I liked the ending, from what I remember.

 

 

Just watched Predator Badlands, and, as an earlier poster already noted, it was much much better than I expected. For some reason, I had the impression that it was live action anime, which I usually don't care for, but in this case the CGI was almost flawless. The plot concerns a young Yatuja (predator) who is considered the weakest link of his tribe and is therefore marked for death. He goes to kill a monster on another planet in order to redeem himself, teeming up with a broken synth (robot) and an indigenous monkey-like creature.

 

The only available copy apparently has Russian hard-coded subs for the Predator parts but there are subtitles available on opensubtitles.org

Felt the urge to watch a movie I have watched about 3 times already, called, "The Man From Earth" and still enjoyed it as IMO the story, the acting and the challenge of the overall belief system are cleverly woven into the story.....just great.

Streaming releases happen long before the Blu-ray versions with comparable quality. From what I can find Predator Badlands is supposed to be on VOD today(Dec 9) but I don't see it on my sources yet.
