Why? In general, I sit and eat or stay and eat near a table. But sometimes I walk. Why not?

Just call them the Palestinians and the Israelis , no need for the

watermelon people" or "the chosen ones".

You and I live in completely different worlds with totally different realities.

The Palestinians are most entitled and privileged people on the planet.

Privileged? Since more than a year they are being “unalived” by the 10s of thousands.

Entitled? To what? To own the land, they have been living on for generations and which has been taken from them, without ever asking them, and it's still being taken from them right now. Would you act differently?

You wouldn't have heard of their cause if it wasn't for Israel being the ones they oppose .

They only have mass World support and mass funding because they are fighting against Jews .

Which side is the one being funded with billions? Which side is the one with the well trained army and equipped with the best and most modern weapons, you can get Let alone tanks, fighter jets, 2000 pound bombs, bunker breakers, you name it and is supported with data from satellites, western Secret Services and even Google.

And which one is the site with AK-40 sevens and outdated missiles, which hardly hit any target. You call that mass funding?

2 hours ago, Nick Carter icp said:

They would have as much support as the Rohingyas have if they were fighting against Buddhists

The mass world support is not because they are fighting against Jews it is because they are fighting for justice. Justice in terms of the UN partition plan of 1948 which granted both people a state but only one people proclaimed their state and since then did everything to prevent the other people from getting theirs.

These are historical facts. I'm not making that up.

If anyone is entitled, then those people who claim a land, which they had left 2000 years ago, and now claim to have the exclusive right to live there as it was promised to them by their God justifying it with some ancient book.

It is historically proven that both people have been living peacefully side by side together with the third group, I call them the strange people, as their most used sign is the cross on which their beloved prophet was killed in a horrific way.

Sure, there have been wars and the rulers changed but most conflicts were between the watermelon and the strange people, while both sides never had issues with the chosen people, because you could only be born as one as your mother had to be a chosen person but not be recruited and therefore posed no threat or competition to the beliefs of the others, which one could convert to or from.

The since then never ending war started when the chosen people started moving back back to the land of their ancestors about 100 years ago, were now the watermelon people were living for centuries, raising their numbers from 3% to 30% of the population within less than 3 decades and then taking more than 50% of the land and proclaiming an exclusively chosen people state.

The basic law of the chosen state says: “the state of I. is the national home of the J. people in which it fulfils its …. right to self determination. The state will ensure the safety of the J. people … due to the fact of their J.ness.  The state views the development of J. settlement as national value and will act to encourage and promote its establishment and consolidation.”

I was never good in history and until last year didn't know much about the watermelon-chosen conflict, because almost every year one could see some news reporting something about it and after a few days it was over.

But this time the whole conflict took more than a year and the world started taking notice and was shocked.

And a horror once seen cannot be made unseen.

Again, I am not siding with one people and to be honest, having met people from both the chosen and the watermelon people I always got along much better with the chosen people, as they are usually very friendly, open minded, intelligent and well educated.

But I refuse, and always will refuse, to rightfully condemn the heinous atrocities done to one people within one day and then be silent when the other people are brutalised in the same way for more than a year.

And from my point of view everyone, no matter on which side, who supports any kind of aggression or harm being done to the other side, is a hopeless idiot and imbecile, because that's what they have been doing for the last 7 decades and where did it get them to?

If they would have spent just a fraction of that money they spent for their weapons to support the fair creation of two states where both people can live and thrive without fear side by side, all those atrocities on both sides would never have happened.

Because a person, who is living a prosperous life in peace, harmony and safety for him and his family will hardly be convinced to pick up a weapon, start a war and by doing so risking all he has.

  Both .

Palestinians  get about 4 Billion $ a year in aid

They spend it all on tunnels, weapons and bombs to attack Israel

If they stopped attacking Israel, then Israel wouldn't require any military assistance

To you it is. To them it's not.

I was picking up food at a local Indian restaurant the other day. When I walked in I saw some people eating with their hands.

Such animals sitting there eating with their hands at a table.

It is part of Thai, Indian and probably other Asian countries to eat with their hands. What pisses me off is the Thai trend to turn over and flick away three or four pieces of food on a shared plate before taking the one they want. Thus putting  their dirt, bacteria and possibly viruses on other people's food... Builds up natural resistance I suppose...😆

Nick, I get it.  I empathise with your concern.  I have a large dining table and chairs in my house because that contributes to making a meal an occasion for my family and friends.

I can set my own example, and hope that my children respect it and continue the practice.

I am reminded of Reinhold Niebuhr's Serenity Prayer, which we are probably all familiar with:

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

It works for me.  I hope it works for you too.

Maybe some Westerners who walk down the street eating food will read this and realise its rude and dirty to do so and thus will stop doing it?  .

   So, things could indeed change

Because you're insulting people who don't have food and are hungry who see you eating. It's a big no-no in Arab countries and also in China. I never remember seeing anybody in the States doing it, but I haven't been back in 45 years, so my memory may not be all that reliable.

Chew with your mouth closed and people won't see your tonsils. My mama always told me, "Don't eat with food in your mouth, and don't talk with your mouth open." Simple rules to live by.

Its usually Westerners that I see walking around shopping centers and markets whilst eating their takeaways

At the Airport a few days ago waiting for baggage....  I saw a Thai woman open a pack a salami slices and start eating while waiting for the baggage.....     a rather grim example of a trashy low taste new money behavior...

Growing up I was never allowed to eat while on the move, be it a packet of crisps or a mars bar etc...   If necessary, stop eat out of the way, place rubbish in the bin....

Its the same today - we will not (and my son cannot) eat on the move.

He cannot eat in the car (while the car is moving - for choking reasons), but we have had the odd drive through KFC on a road trip.... otherwise, nothing in the car either.

Worse still - the pigs who are unable to eat with their mouths closed....  and then there are those who talk with food in their mouth.

And another one....  people to slide of a shoe (or usually a flipflop / sandal) and sit cross legged on their chair at a table.

My Wife says she's a snob.... I think so too.... I think I am too... I'm glad we agree on the standards with which we bring up our Son.

I've spent enough time in other cultures, Middle East, India etc to recognise the manners there too...

I find that good manners cross all cultural divides.... And if you are one who exercises polite manners in hygiene, interpersonal, culinary and dining... then you will find those similarities with minor idiosyncratic differences in other cultures....

.... You'll also be able to easily spot the 'pigs' in other cultures....

Good manners are universal.

-----------

In India, I had enough after a few days of 'work lunches' and refused to sit across from a guy...  his dining habits were horrific.  We ate with our fingers, managing not to get the food past our first knuckle....  I observed the 'better educated and respected' of the bunch and watched how well they ate with their hands...  but this one guy managed to get food in his palms, around his mouth and over his shirt.... the worst part, he never shut up and food fell out of his mouth while he spoke...

.... I soon cared little for cultural sensitivities and refused to sit at the same table to avoid feeling sick while eating....  other colleagues soon joined me and also expressed similar opinions...

... nice enough guy, but ate like he'd never seen food before.

I know this is OT, but the sub forum, in which this subject can be discussed, seems to me like an echo chamber, were any opposing opinion disappears and despite the forum rules clearly demand it, when I sent 3 consecutive messages to the moderators asking for the reason, why they removed my posts, I never got an answer and when I asked publicly, that post was removed too without further explanation.

The side I chose, and always will, is the side of the innocent and defenseless, independent if they are just partying on a festival and are killed or if they are living in an open prison and are massacred by the 10s of thousands.

Any perpetrator who intentionally kills innocent women and children, independent of the victims being Jews or Arabs is an animal and does not deserve to live, not matter if he is from Gaza or Israel.

And any person, who sides with a perpetrator committing such atrocities, when done to a certain people but condemns them when done to another people, is in my opinion either mental or racist and should check his pulse as there is a good chance he has no heart.

Anyone who thinks I am wrong, may feel free to explain to me, why and how. In my world there is no justification and never will be, for the intentional murder of children. Period!

One last comment to those, who deleted many of my posts: if I am wrong, if my moral compass is damaged, then why delete them? Why not leave them and expose me as the wrongdoer, you think I am.

The truth never has to hide! But it needs to be hidden by those, who are afraid of it.
