Provide means to supply or give, so how about you stop bickering and trolling.

You post was very clear, immigration will provide a flight.

oh yes you're right I stand corrected. Maybe it was flagged in their computer for 25 years this guy overstayed his 30 days and simply didn't know where to find him because his passport was never registered doing rentals. Seems unlikely though so I wonder how he got away for so long.

i reckon that Bimmer was parked outside a 7/11 again  :whistling:

You get a state pension in the UK when you are 66, how old is this guy I wonder?

Someone said he is 60.

He might get a private pension or life insurance?

But what is sure he got a source to live for the last 25 years. So there will be money to pay his flight back.

If you read the thread more carefully , you would have seen a link:  Thai police arrest Briton for overstaying visa by 25 yearsThey moved to Chiang Mai 12 years ago for economic reasons, although police said the man does not have a job and lives on money from his family in Britain.

Well blow me can not see the link in the OP show link

OP states Entered Thailand on January 9, 2000, with a 30-day visa exemption, the man did not seek an extension. He lived in Bangkok for 13 years, later moving to Chiang Mai for another 12. He even obtained a new passport during his prolonged stay, potentially evading detection.

State benefits cannot be paid to non-UK residents.  State pension is not a benefit,

Not true, state pensions can be paid to UK pensioners who leave the country and live long-term in other countries, the annual triple lock rise will not be applied though so the pension amount is frozen.

Being in receipt of a frozen state pension, I am well aware of that; I was referring to state social security benefits.

If read in the context of my previous comments on the same subject it would have been totally clear.   Not only are some posters not mind readers, many do not even seem to be readers!

The State Pension is described in legislation as a “benefit” in order to root it within the existing social security framework.

Yes and being a "benefit" rather that a right gives the Government the right to alter it, like means testing, which they said they will never do but then who trusts them, and to spy on out bank account usage. What is called is irrelevant. Why it has to be called a "benefit" just because it is administered by the DWP is BS. By any definition it is not a benefit. I paid into a private pension just the same. That is not a benefit. I pay for car and house insurance that it not a benefit.

Reckoned it would be hard to find, maybe even back in the warrens, (Suriyawong alleys). Or at least up past the Russian Orthodox church, the appropriately named St Vladimir’s. Nope. First left after CK-Buriwong 4 way, and there was his burrow, in your face.

No matter if he was getting money from blighty, he had money problems and/or physical age-related issues. Front by road, still dirty from the floods. Two marks on the wall where AC units had been, both long gone. One window on an upper floor completely gone. All other windows, opaque from grime. If he had a wife, she cleared out long ago. Thai news claimed this was part of ongoing sweeps of suspect areas, uh uh, nah,  Likely a neighbor had enough and reported him. At 25 years, impressive but living like that at least for the last couple, or five, ten years ... sad.

National insurance is not a pension pot, it is a tax to pay for the current oldies, when those people then become pensioners they are paid for by current taxpayers not from a pension pot.

The state pension is a "nice little earner", it goes up every year, and it administers itself and goes straight into my bank account.

It pays for beer and restaurant for the year.

I didn't say that it was a pot. As you say my pension is being paid by current National Insurance payers. Just as when I was working all my NICs were paying for somebody elses pension. However it is not "tax" that pays the pension it is NICs. If the you like the NICs are tax but the government chooses not to call it tax. You used to have to have made 44 years worth of contributions to earn a full state pension so it is effectively a pot.

As to a nice little earner, I dont think you will find people who haven't a company or private pension will call the state pension a "nice little earner". It does go up every year but not by an excessive amount. If what I paid in NICs hade been paid into an ISA or a pension I am sure I would be much better off.
