Brawl at Krabi Bus Terminal: Former Boxer Injured in Fight with Security Guards

A violent brawl erupted at the Krabi Bus Terminal, leaving a former professional boxer with a broken nose after a confrontation with security guards and motorcycle taxi drivers. The altercation, which took place at 10:00 on 25 February, prompted police from Mueang Krabi Police Station and emergency responders to rush to the scene.

 

The injured man, Mr. Narong Boonchan, 41, a former boxer known as “Saddam Kiattayongyut”, was found bloodied and bruised, waiting for authorities. He received first aid before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

 

According to Mr. Narong, the incident began when he rode his motorcycle to the station to buy a ticket for a trip to Bangkok. He parked his motorcycle in front of the bus terminal sign, noticing that other bikes were already parked there. Shortly after, he was approached by both motorcycle taxi drivers and a security guard, who told him he was not allowed to park there.

 

Narong questioned why others were allowed to park while he was not, leading to a heated exchange. He claimed that one of the security guards then approached him holding a baton, prompting him to walk towards the guard. The guard retreated to his post, but Narong followed to continue the discussion.

 

It was at this moment, he alleged, that he was struck from behind before being set upon by a group of 6-7 men, including motorcycle taxi drivers. The altercation left him with a broken nose, torn clothing, and missing glasses.

 

Despite his injuries, Narong has issued a challenge to those involved, stating that he will drop all charges if they agree to a one-on-one fight. However, he intends to press charges if they refuse.

 

Mr. Wutthichai, a security guard involved in the incident, gave a different version of events. He claimed that Narong parked in a restricted area and was approached by motorcycle taxi drivers who told him to move. This led to a verbal altercation, during which Narong allegedly used offensive language and insulted their families.

 

According to Wutthichai, Narong then attempted to attack them, prompting the security guards and taxi drivers to defend themselves, leading to the brawl.

 

Mr. Praphan, 68, a motorcycle taxi driver, supported this account, saying that the area was reserved for official vehicles. When they asked Narong to move, he allegedly became aggressive and attempted to assault the security guard first, forcing them to intervene.

 

In response to the incident, Mr. Opas Chutamat, the Bus Terminal Manager, stated that security footage captured the entire altercation. He denied that the security guards initiated the fight.

Someone is not telling the truth but the Eye in the Sky is never untruthful.

Sounds like the ex-boxer got a little too cocky......

That´s a good way to deal with things. Fight violence with violence. Let´s just say, this guy needs to go to Prayut´s attitude adjustment camps.

'Restricted". By law or made up by the taxi people?

Many public places you are not allowed to park,if you do expect a flat tire or paint damage.

Common all over Thailand and one of the reasons people start to avoid places .

Sounds more like the boxer parked his bike where the taxi mafia claimed as their own. As for who started the fight? If there is vdo of it then why is it not in the news also. 

Another discrepancy would be no charges filed and no arrests made. The boxer was taken to the hospital but not to the police station.

If you are near the Taxi Stand the normal custom is Ask.  We have been allowed many times told to park elsewhere a few.  Definitely not worth a beat down to park.
