The "ignore" function is a great feature.

Mentioned on a previous thread that I may make more use of the "ignore" feature.

I have selectively put some members on ignore, possibly more to come as the need arises.

It has made AN a much better place to visit already, this is simply my opinion, but seems much more comfortable.

Has anyone else felt it was beneficial?

Never will put anyone on ignore. If you don't like to read what others write, just go onto another topic. Some are here just to troll, and don't contribute anything but, but some who aren't swift on one subject, and will argue until the swallows come back to Capistrano, even after being proven wrong with facts, still might have knowledge on other topics and decent advice one can follow.

Been on here over 20 years all I have seen is a general decline and I have found a feature that suits my requirements.

There is no obligation to use it.

How could you see the general decline being reversed?

can you detail what you mean by the general decline?

By using the "ignore" function to get rid of the dross!

And for me it has been effective and in quick time.

As I said the feature is not compulsory.

Never have and probably never will.  Why create a dellusional echo chamber?  Expand your mind and learn how to deal with those that cause you stress.  Seems like the manly thing to do 🙂

Probably the same decline that is always happening for some individuals.  The world, government, kids, Thias, etc.  Yawn

Have the feeling that the OP might not see this post or any of yours.  I'm sure you will get over it.  I love the posts where a member feels the need to announce he will be putting you on his  ignore list.

Some people get offended easy and can't handle people disagreeing with them, of course they deny that

Almost all of these post excessively.

The most recent is posting about 100 times a day.

Often I encounter half a page of messages of 2 ignored members yakking back and forth.

Then I feel the ignore has served its purpose.

1)- The primary motivator in life and the key to happiness.

2)- Also involves more than just seeking pleasure, including finding meaning, purpose, and contributing to society.

In cases where I find, and some posts, no meaning, no purpose, and no contribution to a subject,

I go back to the search for happiness.

If the ignore button contributes to a small thrust of happiness, then so be it.

But then sometimes happiness must be kept under control 😊....

He's hoping you will apologize, and beg him not to be blacklisted.

Me for one. My ignore list is 6 pages long which is not too bad for 21 years. Most posters  on my ignore list only went there in the last couple of years. Several posters that I ought to put on ignore I haven't, simply for amusement value as I like a good laugh when I read their more ridiculous posts and claims.

Or it could be easier to put them on ignore, then there is no stress.

Up to you. Being stressed is a weeakness IMO and ignoring individuals that are frustrating isn't the answer.  Then again, if it is working for you then why stop.

I haven't stopped ignoring posters yet, and yes, it is working for me.

Ignore function only works when you log on.

There is no sense in it unless you wouldn't like to read posts of those ignored.

But AN shows them: you ignored XYZ.

It would be much better not even to show that XYZ sent a comment or replied to your post.

Then, and only then "ignored" makes sense.

No keep thay function, so when posters publically announce "I am putting you on ignore " , then you can then reply to there every post .

An opportunity to annoy them back 🙂

So lefties are totally living in a tiny bubble then. Far left news, ignoring reality, no Thai friends, hatred towards capitalism, hatred towards farang right wingers. No wonder they look angry.

Living in a leftist bubble shows extreme weakness. Triggered by Trump and people on the internet. Hating Thais and giving out sad emojis. What a sad life.

The lefty must be a bum then.

Why stress over internet comments? Good comedy is all it is.

Better AN would enable to block someone.

Then you wouldn't see him for a while and: he would not be able to answer your posts.
