We live off exports of raw mining minerals etc, world is in a kind of recession so who's building anything, add when the US is going well money floods there making our $ drop, maybe as Trump turns the US into a rust belt it will help the AU$.

Behind the times?

The US has been a rust belt for a long time now.

While it isn’t good for poor Aussies living in Thailand on welfare it is desirable to have a weak currency.

China manipulates its currency down and Trump wants to do the same for the USA.

Socially those Aussies are a bit backward, but they are on the ball financially speaking.
