May First Lazada Seller Scam.

I'm not sure if I've misunderstood you here: I've always used my credit-card on my Lazada account (comes straight out of that) - I've never had to 'press received' to release any payment, payment is automatic.

When you pay for an item it comes out of your account immediately but Lazada doesn't pay the seller until you press received, i think after 7 days of no action money is released to seller. Check your recent received transactions and you should see a received question, same Shopee

I guess... Its not something I ever paid attention to...

I've never actually clicked 'received'...      I generally order something then forget about it.

Sometimes it doesn't even turn up, then I realise the seller cancelled the order two weeks ago !!!  (of course thats a different issue).

When in doubt, i go COD. Generally, bad vendors cancel the order.

That said, I have never had an issue with Lazada refunds unless the item is so low-value they aren't willing to send someone to pick it up and i can't be bothered to jump through hoops to send it

I find that happens when I take a chance and order something cheaper than I know it should be using COD.

What telling someone what they should be checking, don't be a jerk yourself

You assume alot.

Unfortunately, the scammers also have that angle covered because they create false reviews by generating shipments to scam receipients. The end result is that they can create a number of false positive reviews. This is common on Amazon.

That's not how it works. You return the package and they refund you the money once their satisfied with your claim. It's always worked for me when an error has occurred.

He meant hang on to the video!

Like i said already and you should know, you look at the low ratings and details of the seller

I never use COD for a few reasons.

So you buy an item COD and it arrives, can you open the parcel before paying? I don't think so, so you could still be scammed.

I once had an item arrive but wasn't expecting anything. I looked at parcel and it had my name and delivery guy asked for around 800 baht. I just handed it back and said never use COD.

More scams come out of China than most other countries, Nigeria is higher it must be said. To be honest I am a little surprised you couldn't get a cable elsewhere. Why, just out of interest, is it so special? The manufacturer of the appliance you want it for could probably provide such a cable.
