Actually, in 31 free States we have Constitutional Carry so no permit needed at all.
Concealed carry is allowed in all 50 states, clearly there are 4-5 that make it near impossible.
The remaining 15 states all have CCP and many have open carry with no lic. required.

Its nice and courteous if you are pulled over for speeding or something to be able to add "I have a permit" to the mandatory disclosure.

Why I liked the Glock 19 so much.   Lays flat against you, and large enough to be secure in belted waste band, yet small enough to be very comfy, without a clip on holster.

Safety on the trigger, so near impossible to shot my buddy off.  Especially if a round isn't chambered.

Not a fan  of 'outside' belt holster as catch on everything and quite annoying.  Or a fan of my inside belt holster for 38 snub, as the hammer was annoying, and access not nearly as smooth, if needed.

On that, needing, never needed, and USA being unsafe is quite the myth, unless you put yourself in harm's way.

Most of the shootings, murders are gang banging turf wars.  One third of gun deaths are suicides.  Stop watching MSM.

Without the right to bear arms, USA wouldn't exist, and the colonies would still be under the thump of the tyrannical King & empire.  With even less freedom of expression that's allowed now.

I'm solidly in the "Don't ask/don't tell" camp.

I understand your point though

Go look at the vids of ADs from waist carry without trigger covering holster. If you carry Israeli style then its OK. I trained some in Israeli Instinctive techniques. Too much for me at my age

I think it is a law in some states.

When you have a 1911 stuffed between the seat and console? I would want that courtesy.

Live with one's choices, but I'd find it next to impossible to shoot myself with the Glock 19.  If not chambered a round, then definitely impossible, if having the slightest common sense.

You simply don't touch the trigger, unless ready to squeeze it.  The safety for the Glock is on the trigger.  Will not discharge even if dropped.

Other chambered autos have discharged by simply dropping on the floor.

Pistols are a tool that I've not touched in more than 50 years.  We had a 22 rifle for target practice, rabbets and skunks. A 30.06 was for deer and turkeys and the 12 gauge shotgun rounded out the rack, which was for quail & doves (and was kept handy with my Dad whenever the local police, Sherriff, juvenile delinquency officer or Country Judge suggested we should be vigilant).

I'm a strong Second Amendment advocate, but have never seen the sense in me owning one.  I might feel different if I had to go to the US and live there again.

Good luck on your trip and stay safe.

But it's not legal for a foreigner to carry a gun in Thailand. So why would you want to research the subject?

And if the cops stopped you:

Your excuse is: I'm worried" someone pulls a gun on you and threatens your family, having a gun might even the odds. Better them than you or your loved ones."

Sounds reasonable to me.

I have found worse throughout my time on Asian forums. Much worse, and this particular post Me personally wouldn't dare to be offended by 😉😁

Not if you don't have a round chambered (Glock 19). IF chambered, not if you don't squeeze the trigger, and nothing to get caught on when in the waistband.

Carried one for ~13 years, and all appendages still there 😎

Free citizens, makes you guys nuts. YOUR RULERS wont let you have guns LOL

You think you Americans are 'free' citizens? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha  hahahahahahaha.

I haven't laughed so much in ages.

Our 'rulers' don't have to explain why some retards continually enter schools in the US and massacre children.

Thank heavens we're not 'free' like you lot!

Ps. Is your Christian name 'Rambo' ?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

People in free states can obtain a Concealed Carry permit.

Yes but this site is for Thailand not the USA

Within the next 18 months or so, Im going to migrate to 5 Months USA and the rest split between Europe and Thailand/Cambodia. That much time in the USA necessitates I rearm.

Walking around with my pants dragging from just a cell phone (my butt has migrated to my belly) leads me to believe that my days of carrying a BHP or 1911 anywhere on my waist are over. Thats for under the seat.

In the past I have carried various pocket pistols, mostly Seecamps but also things like Budischowsky TP-70, Walther TP-22, Colt 1908, etc

Revolvers are too bulky, as are the old tip up Berettas. I dont classify early FN and Colt .32s as "pocket".

Any suggestions for a pocket pistol other than the Seecamps?  Has anyone worked with the Ruger LCP in terms of accuracy and function? Is anyone pocket carrying a NAA 22 mag? Anything new I should look at, Ive been away from guns for several years.

LOl! Who in their right mind would migrate to America these days!! 😆😆

FFS ... OP simply asked for preference of firearm to carry.

Not a moral debate.

Not a legal debate.

Not a USA vs carry restricting countries debate.

Not a choice of what country to go to, debate.

Any useful advice ??? if not ... STFU :cheesy:

Save yourself some embarrassment :coffee1:

Isn't there a Trump thread you haven't posted on 😎

Why not, booming economy, real estate prices are correct in the areas I'm looking at, potential tax deductions on a new vehicle, the cost of medical insurance, plenty of factors would make me want to live full-time in the US and I'm only going to do it about 5 to 6 months through there instead of two to three

Take a look at all the thumbs down emojis from the emojinauts on the opening post just seeking advice. You think there is some anti-American sickness here lol. It's like a big sandbox for these loons

They also never seem to mention how many crimes don't even happen because of armed citizens.

My redneck neighborhood at the butt end of Galveston Island is a perfect example.  Bad guys know they risk getting shot if they burglarize a neighbor's home, even though many of them are spendy beach houses that are vacant more than half the time.  Because we watch out for each other and know who's supposed to be there.  And we're armed.

I'd also mention that a lot of our rednecks are Hispanic and black, and quite a few Vietnamese.  All great neighbors.  Even the Biden Harris supporters.
