I can't wait for Trump to huff and puff and threaten China with 200% tariffs while spouting nonsense about America being the powerhouse of global manufacturing and Number One in everything and it's military being the Mostest and Bestest and Powerfullist military in creation.  China can crush the US chip manufacturing if it so chooses.

I think Trump has been sufficiently chastened by the consequences of his previous attempt to penalize China. But as for chips, no, China can't crush the US. In fact,  a big obstacle in the dispute was Trump's barring Nvidia from selling advanced chips to China. Chip manufacturing is one area where China still lags the West and Taiwan.

I guess the US military will need to take chips out of washing machines to make there missiles and planes.

No, the US does not heavily depend on China for its semiconductor chips

; the majority of chip imports to the US come from Taiwan, South Korea, and other Southeast Asian countries. However, the US does rely on China as a major market for its chips and is working to increase its own domestic manufacturing capacity to reduce overall supply chain vulnerabilities, including the potential for dependence on China.

I think anyone with at least half a brain realises that Trump doesn't know his arse from his elbow. He is just a 'snake oil' salesman. A successful one as far as the American people go. To anyone outside, he hasn't got any clothes on. But half the American population don't seem to realise that.

The guys running the show are people behind the scenes, such as Scott Bessent.

Evidence of this is when he runs off the mouth at drug prices being lowered by a 1000%, Who would swallow that? Half the American public by the looks of it.

It's hard to keep track of who is who here. Given the low standards subscribed to by certain members, it's certainly reasonable to interpret Hummin's message as sincere. But I checked out some of Hummin's other comments and it seems you're right.
