I think it’s more bemusement than a complaint or actually getting upset about it.

 

Someone makes a perfectly reasonable post, and they receive a thumbs-down emoji. Not an issue in itself, but it’s clear that a stalker from a previous thread - where they disagreed with someone - is now hitting a thumbs-down on that person’s comments - I can see when 'other' posters are getting stalked and you can often work out who they are getting stalked by.

 

That said, there are specific posters whose contributions will almost always get a thumbs-down from me, simply because what they post is utterly inane. And soon after, I just put posters such as harrisfan on ignore after never seeing them make a single intelligent contribution to any thread that isn’t a complete waste of time to read.

Personally, I view the thumbs down emoji as a badge of honour and a decent reward for twisting some Muppet's nickers. 👙
