    You are despicable.   Eric.

  • Usually you can tell who gave the thumbs down, usual losers, so give them some retaliatory thumbs down for good measure

Ego's need to be treated.

If getting so upset with a silly thumbs down here, what would it be in real life, that to in Thailand as a falang ?

Chill...it's only a forum here...

Indeed chill - and also understand that people aren't really getting upset...  they're just raising a point thats all.

I do wonder why when some make a point of simple criticism - others / some think they are getting upset - they're not - they're just making a point as part of the discussion...

... Do you really believe this makes people upset ?

I think it’s more bemusement than a complaint or actually getting upset about it.

Someone makes a perfectly reasonable post, and they receive a thumbs-down emoji. Not an issue in itself, but it’s clear that a stalker from a previous thread - where they disagreed with someone - is now hitting a thumbs-down on that person’s comments - I can see when 'other' posters are getting stalked and you can often work out who they are getting stalked by.

That said, there are specific posters whose contributions will almost always get a thumbs-down from me, simply because what they post is utterly inane. And soon after, I just put posters such as harrisfan on ignore after never seeing them make a single intelligent contribution to any thread that isn’t a complete waste of time to read.

The modern way in the UK, no longer any jobs for life.

I enjoy receiving them, I regard them as a badge of honour, knowing I've triggered a grumpy dude.

I received over 50 on one of my comments recently.

You got to understand, the thumbs down stalkers are nasty, horrible, old men, sat behind their keyboards, day in day out. They don't have a hobby or life, probably married to a smelly, ex bar girl.

I'm very different to these members.

I'm a happy person, not bitter or nasty, I'm not on the age pension, I don't complain, whinge or whine about Thailand.

I generally choose to only interact with the article, OP or when I receive a hostile comment.

Yeah - but if you are getting a lot of Thumbs down emojis - i.e. more than 5 to any one post, its not due to stalkers and suggest a lot more about the content of your post than anything else

Check this out Ricardo, have you received one of these awards?

I can't remember getting an award for the most unliked, my over 50 thumbs down on one of my comments.

Anyway, thanks AN. I'll hang it in my mancave, impress the chicks. 😎

What is it with these people on AN that lurk in the shadows, waiting to pounce with a thumbs down on whatever you post out of pure spite?

Are they suffering from something serious, or is it just utter boredom from which they suffer?

Eric.

I don't think they do really.Generally you can't be surprised that others maybe don't agree with what you've said or your opinion. and Perhaps they don't feel they want to get into some long tit for tat discussion?

Some may indeed have taken a dislike to you and will thumbs down anything you post but so what?

Pretty sure I've got one of those here actually (who is on ignore) but it's hardly worth losing sleep over.

It's the internet and you'll come across all sorts of people.

It's not your problem whatever their issue might be.

Why do people go back to their own posts to check what emojis, if any, they got? I see no purpose in doing that.

Why give thumbs down? They should be tarred and feathered

Who cares?  You take people’s votes too seriously.

Do you.............

If you have notifications enabled, you will be informed by a notification that 'someone' has given you an emoji..😉

In the old days, a username was attached, I liked that, told me who was on the same wave-length on an issue, or who was just a naughty boy.....😀

For normal people, the content of one’s posts can be an indicator if they’re on the same wave-length or a naughty boy.

No need for emojis.

So you know, that was me who just gave you a "thank you." I really feel is was a mistake to hide who did what.

confused-emoji.jpg.25c72d4335e3beb6784e2574a92fd2a6.jpgMe thinks they just want their posting count to be increased by how many times they respond to a post, with nothing to add to the discussion??  they just give it a thumbs down.  I myself would like the Confused emoji back but something  a little more descriptive:

There is a variety of notifications, and they can be enabled individually.

"Reactions" means giving emojis.
