There's no problem buying a beer from the 711 after 2pm. You just have to wait until 5pm 🙃

It's a suggestion for lifting the ban, nothing has changed yet – the non-alcoholic organizations are against it – i.e., you still need to hoard your beers for 2pm-5pm before 5pm...

Went to a restaurant in Kanchanaburi last week. The lady on the door welcoming customers was explaining to everyone that entered that they were not allowed to serve alcohol between 2pm and 5pm. Not sure if alcohol consumption was also banned during those hours as I wasn't drinking anyway.
