Trump files $10B lawsuit against IRS over tax return leak

Featured Replies

A spokesman for Trump’s legal team told Fox News "a rogue, politically motivated" IRS employee disclosed private and confidential tax information involving Trump, his family and the Trump Organization to outlets, including The New York Times and ProPublica.

The suit claims the disclosures were illegal and harmed millions by violating federal privacy laws.

That contractor at the heart of the leak, Charles Littlejohn, pleaded guilty in October 2023 to a single felony count of unauthorized disclosure of tax return information and is serving a five-year prison sentence.

What we can all be sure of is that the IRS will do it's very best to fight that lawsuit since Trump is the least vindictive of Presidents and would in no way punish people at the IRS for fighting the lawsuit. That FBI agents were fired in droves because of the previous investigations of Trump would in no way indicate how Trump would react this time.

And it's comforting to know that taxpayer dollars may well end up enriching the Trump family even further and increasing the national debt.

Why does Trump absolutely want to hide his tax returns, while other major politicians published them? 😀

An expert not involved in the matter said that "the statute of limitations could become a major point of contention if the federal government chooses to zealously defend the case."

However, Dolman said, the federal statutes that create a private right of action for the underlying conduct require that a lawsuit be brought within two years of the claimant's discovery of the unauthorized inspection or disclosure.

"Because the government contractor was charged criminally in October 2023 for the disclosures," he added, "the statute of limitations could become a major point of contention if the federal government chooses to zealously defend the case."

Alejandro Brito of Brito PLLC in Coral Gables and his co-counsel, Daniel Z. Epstein of Epstein & Co. in Washington, D.C., who represent the plaintiffs, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

He believes he is the President of Trump Inc and NOT the President of the USA!
