Of course, because the way to pronounce an implied vowel in a word (as in พัทยา) is so blindingly obvious that even Thai people have to buy a book to find out how to pronounce names properly. <rolleyes>

Pat-ta-ya is three syllables, same as Man-ches-ter or Birm-ing-ham, known as Manc and Brum. Phitsanulok is P'lok.
