Wanted Dog Carrier/kennel Approved For Airline Use

Does anyone know where i can get hold of two Dog carriers/kennels that would be approved for airline use. I have already read the other topic Dog Kennel and will be ringing the number listed to talk with them first thing Monday. If any body else has any ideas please let me know and if any one has any of these for sale please PM me. I have been informed by the company i am using to ship my dogs i will need type 400 series carries or ones that measure L92, W61, H66. I also need the carries shipping to Udon Thani.

Very helpful Nienke, first number does not exist and the second number belongs to a jewellery shop, not a good place to buy Airline Approved Dog carriers. Anyway for anyone interested i rang the number, 02 212 9172 from the post Kennel which belongs to the Shamu Shamu Co Ltd in Bangkok. Very helpful staff who speak perfect English. I joined there members scheme for 199 baht and purchased two large Vari Kennels, Ultra Fashion models made in the USA by Petmate for 6299 baht each. Petmate is a internationally trusted name and the carriers are 100% IATA approved. For any one wishing to buy pet supplies i highly recommend this company, they also ship any where in Thailand at reasonable prices. I am looking to get the Giant size too...but Shamu Shamu are asking about 14,000 for it..

9,500 sounds like a good deal comparably... Is that from a chain of pet shops ? I would like one at that price!

The dimensions 41"L 30"W 31"H of the Clipper 7 you mention are closer to the Vari Kennel Fashion XL 40"L 27"W 30"H which Shamu Shamu sell for 8799b, 7899b if you join there members scheme for 199b. The next size up which is larger than the clipper 7 is the Vari Kennel Giant 48"L 32"W 35"H which sells for 14599b or 12999b if you join the members scheme. I'm sure if you traveled to one of the markets in Bangkok you could get the same sized kennel made in China but still approved for airline use for a lot less money than both the Vari Kennel or the Clipper Kennel. I only bought from Shamu Shamu as i needed the carriers delivered to Udon Thani which cost me a extra 200b. If you have to visit Bangkok at all in the future i'm sure you would make a great saving by buying the kennels made in China especially as like you say you need to buy a few. The model i bought was the Vari Kennel Fashion Large 36"L 24.5"W 26"H.

The magazine i got from Shamu Shamu lists the price of the Vari Kennel Giant as 14599b, you can get the price down to 12999b by joining there members scheme for 199b. Again if you live in the Bangkok area try going to Jatujak or Tor Kor market and look for the kennels made in China, much cheaper.

Hi. Thanks Lesh. Good info. I am not familiar with the markets in Bkk but will follow-up on your suggestion about the China variety.

For Muppetbkk: these two particular dog supply stores here in Cmai are both owned by the same owner, which Nienke pointed me towards. One is on the 1st parking floor of Airport Plaza, and the 2nd is on the CMai bypass on your way from HueyKaew intersection East, past Carrefour, and almost opposite the Hino truck dealer on the other side of the bypass. They have a variety of cages and kennels with the better selection at the bypass store. I confirmed that the owner, a male, who speaks English, will discount them 10%. Thanks all for your follow-up. Greatly appreciated. There are other pet stores in CMai, but I noticed only these 2 sell air-kennels.
