Just wanted to post the BBC update on the Santika tragedy..

The whole thing is a bloody disgrace. Typical mai pen rai Thai bs. Nothing has changed. The greedy BKK club owners and police have just continued on with the way they have in the past.

But Chuwit Kamolvisit doubts it ever will. "We prefer things to be informal," he said. "That is the Thai style."

Mai bpen rai is one of the things many profess to love about Thailand but it has it's down side too. I doubt if anything will ever change, the vested interests are too strongly entrenched in the society and too powerful to be challenged.
