Hi

I going back to thailand at the end of the month for 2 weeks and looking for somewhere new to go, I have done Patong and pattaya plus spent a month in Bangkok and a holiday in chiang mai and now looking for somewhere different that has night life and easy to get to, Any tips Please.

I have been looking at koh samui and krabi.

Krabi is leaving me a little confused, i think its becauser of the islands!!! I have read about the reggae music but i think this is on Phi Phi Island, So is everything spread out and if i was going to one of the islands, then which is best, Its Ok seeing the sights during the day, but i dont want to be going to bed at 10pm, so music bars would be good.

So any tips on where to go and how easy is it to get to these places.

Malc

Reggae music is found wherever you look for it.

Krabi town itself is not much for nightlife.

Railay beach is a much better (has reggae)

Ko Prangnan is ok for a younger crowd (you don't mention your age)

Or Ko Samui possibly for older folks.

Ko Lanta is good too.

Not sure of your age or if you like or dislike reggae music.

Do you want to meet Thai girls (bar) or farang girls (or guys?)(ladyboys?)

More information helps.

Hi

I am 47 but feel 27 LOL

I will be taking my Girlfriend with me, so the extras dont matter to much, but i do like to be entertained at night.

Music wise i like most stuff but normally if its reggea music, its normally people letter their hair down instead of the thumping music that you get in Patong!!! Maybe i do feel my age LOL

You'd be better off having a browse through an online travel guide; Wikitravel being about the best, non-superfluous one out there with tips, digs, how to get there, etc. Spend an hour or two flicking through that and you'll be enlightened.

Here's a couple sections, with each destination linking out to a seperate page.

Islands & beaches

Ko Lipe - Small island in the middle of Tarutao National Park amazingly unspoilt, great reefs and beaches absolutely stunning, a must see.

Ko Chang - once quiet island undergoing major tourism development

Krabi - Southern beach and watersports Mecca, includes Ao Nang, Ko Phi Phi and Ko Lanta

Ko Lanta - sleepy southern island with rapidly developing tourism

Ko Pha Ngan - site of the famous Full Moon Party with miles of quiet coastline

Ko Samet - the nearest island beach escape from Bangkok

Ko Samui - comfortable, nature, and entertainment hippie mecca gone upmarket

Ko Tao - Small Island neighbor of Samui

Phuket - the original Thai paradise island now very developed but still with some beautiful beaches remaining

Rai Leh - stunning beach by the limestone cliffs of Krabi, rock climbers mecca

Cities

Bangkok - Thailand's bustling, frenetic capital

Ayutthaya - a historical city, world heritage site and old capital of Thailand

Chiang Mai - the capital of the North and the heart of Lanna culture

Chiang Rai - gateway to the Golden Triangle

Hat Yai - largest city in the Southern region

Kanchanaburi - home of the Bridge over the River Kwai

Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat) - main city in the Isaan region

Pattaya - one of the main tourist destinations

Sukhothai - Thailand's first capital

Surat Thani - Main city of Ko Samui Ko Pha Ngan Ko Tao and Srivijaya Empire.

There are many places to choose from. One major factor should be the weather. It's monsoon season at some places in Thailand. Less rain would be in the Golf of Thailand - Samui area for instance.

AO Nang is good place has a bit of everything plus beautiful islands around it .

Ao Nang is a good choice. I just got back from there a couple days ago. There are two night life areas that I enjoyed. I stayed at the Ao Nang Beach Resort. Large rooms with a sea view for 1,000 baht. Regular rooms for 900 baht. Both include breakfast. Very close to the main nightlife area. Boats to Railay are just across the street.
