Mitzi...a lovely name for a first-born girl...but I digress...

You can spend top dollar at Chiang Mai Ram 1

For about half the price and same quality, I prefer Sripat

Many of the doctors on staff at these two excellent hospitals are med school professors.

There are others: Lanna, McCormick, Rajivej, etc.

All doctors I've used here spoke medical English welll. Spend a day or two checking out threads in our Chiang Mai Forum. I think our doctors are better than most in BKK.

Great advice. And while checking the threads, be sure and pay close attention to comments about clinics and hours. There is trade off to be made on time spent, time of day, costs, and what value you put on your time. Of course, tossing in whether or not you have insurance.

For example, I take my MIL to Sripat for a 9 am appointment for one type of care and have to get there 7-8 am to get in line (yes, get in line for an appointment) if we want to get out of there before lunch time. And this only works if we go on Sunday and go to the paid, special services side. For her arthritis, we take her to a clinic that doesn't open until 5 pm as the surgeon teaches all day.

I go to RAM because I can go during the day and frequently as just a walk in. If I make an appointment, 20 of my closest friends and neighbors do not also have an appointment at the same time. I am not sitting in a waiting room with 100-150 other people like I do at Sripat.
