It may have been a legally licensed hand gun but to a Thai. It is illegal for a farang to own or possess a fire arm in Thailand.

Wrong, you can but you need to meet some specific criterias.

It only seems like farangs can't own firearms because only 1 in X,000 (or more) are Thai citizens. All citizens can own firearms if they meet the requirements (given, which will vary from district to district because of the police check requirement).

Seems as if the guy and his mate were having a really great night out on the town with guns and knuckle dusters.

Shooting at girls and racing about, as you do. Typical someone had to spoil their night out on the town :annoyed:

Why would he be firing a gun into the air? Is he nuts or was he after somebody!

It's those damned flying monkeys, they're everywhere!

If you can't see them you need more drink.

That made me spit coffee over the laptop... thank you. laugh.gif

BUT.......legally the answer is YES and if i can remind that correctly, some of the rules to be legally given to a farang where having been subject of a crime (like burglary and been documented), having to tranport large amount of cash (at least 1 million??) and it can only be obtained with the autorization of a high rank official (local police commander was one but there were more), obviously you are not free to carry it with you all the times and everywhere you like.....
