I voted asset.

Some of your political postings get on peoples nerves but the rest of your posts have valid points and added humor that some members fail to see.

Maybe you are not meaning to be humorus but that is the best type of humour to be honest.

TM is likely VERY aware of how other people perceive him.

...and basically doesn't give a hoot... :o

May I also add after looking at the results of the poll, i was surprised that there were 48% looking upon TM as a waste of space.

I wonder why the detactors were not so willing to air their views bar myself, daleyboy and mrB?

its gone particularly quiet on the tm posting front of late , a few posts of no great import , tinged with sadness even.

but no great lengthy opuses...opii??... about the poor victims of the hurricane in louisiana , cruelly displaced from their crack dens , brothels and lives of crime by the forces of nature.

or the draconian measures proposed by the british government to limit the entitlement of illegal immigrants to only a dickensian 400 pounds a week not including free housing, healthcare , transport , instruction in a religion of their choice (so long as its not anything offensive like christianity or judaism) and made to measure ethnic dress.

there has also been a dearth of tales about when standing in for john lennon during a beatles gig , he was asked by henry kissinger to draft the definitive peace agreement in laotian to present to the involved heads of government to end the decades old conflict in s.e.asia.

"cant ", he said , "i'm tied up for the next three years as personal tutor to the infant geldof and that mick brat bono."

he has taken quite a battering on this thread and despite someone saying that its like water off a ducks back to him , personally i dont think so.

nobody likes to hear or read uncomplimentary things said about themselves.

i think he has just scurried away for a while to mentally regroup , occasionally looking over his shoulder, making a token post or two to show that he is not completely broken.

no , tm has definately not left the building.

even as we speak , tm is probably sitting there in his retreat in the foothills of the mighty pennines , inspired by the soaring scenery , encouraged by kind words from the village vicar / imam /rabbi / and nourished by copious portions of black pudding and dripping washed down with pitchers of warm foaming "old scrotum real ale" planning his comeback , working on the mother of all tm posts with which to redeem his battered reputation , googling like mad for sources to quote , racking his brain for strategies to argue , in preparing the post that will even have his most vicious detractors reading in amazement.

dont go away folks.

thominator 2 , he'll be back !

Won't quote it all but that has to be post of the week.............brilliant Taxexile.

You have to admire internet forums for their compelling waste of time.

That we can create an online nemesis (I couldn't pluralize nemises) is an incredible thing.

I remember back in the day having a bee in my bonnet over Yohan, probably a very nice fella in real life (actually I reserve judgement there) And getting apoplectic over the posts from Harry Palmer. I remember logging in one morning to find my reply to one of his posts "You #####ing ##### #### how ##### dare you ###### #################" That was a while ago :o

I still get slightly irritated when people post an incredible amount of near spam like posts in a day - I think 94 is a record. But what they hey, it's an internet forum.

I find that I respect certain posters a great deal, and others not so much, every member should stand by their work and be proud of their body of posts, I take pleasure in reading 'all posts by' certain members, SMS posters (I have news 4 U), flammers and serial miserable bastars I can do without.

I gather TM's been a bit of an annoyance to some, but I've never had a problem. Same goes for Scampy, I think celebrity posters should be welcomed, lets face it, Thai Visa has now become more than a place to find out info on Thailand, it's becoming an expat institution, one I'm proud to belong to.

Thomas Merton, Gentleman Scamp, Daleyboy, The Moog, there's room for you all

But not Yo>cough<han

May I be so bold as to add Taxexile and Maerim to your list? Tax just writes what a lot of us are thinking, but in a da.mn funny way, and I miss Maerim's sarcastic one-liners.

Were you coughing or did you really mean when you said we don't have room for DaveYo?

I wouldn't place too much import on TM... he does that himself well enough.

I agree Taxexile's cutting piece was outstandingly composed and likely as realistic as if he had shot real-life video of his depictions of TM's life and thoughts.

I agree with Professor Fart's comments and think that most of TM's detractors have learned not to bother responding... as the post earlier stateded in "Note to Self", thus leaving most of the posts here as at least tolerant if not even favorable to TM.

I don’t know why it is, but I am reminded when reading this thread of a small Irish village in the 19th century.

With the washerwomen sitting in a circle discussing their neighbours.

The same group that was brought to its longest silence when Molly Molone told them a little secret she had just discovered,

“Did you know, ladies, you can tell how big a c*nt you are by the size of your mouth!”

So keeping my mouth firmly shut, can I remind you ladies, there are more important things in life than the persona of TM:

Wales play New Zealand today!

Now that is important. Game starts at 11PM Thai time.May the best team win...and if we don't, then I will sulk all day and beat the missus up. :o
