Extension on visa. Visa run?

Recommended Posts

And I'd just be applying for another 15 day visa. Unless its possible to get a longer one on the day?

There are no 15 day visas that would be a 15 day visa exempt entry ..........an important difference.

Depending on your visa history a tourist visa may be obtainable in Penang apply in the AM pick up next day.

If all that you want is 15 days, when you get to Hat Yai get a taxi to the border at Sadao and enter Malaysia, free. Turn around and come back and you will get a 15 day visa exempt entry. If you want a tourist visa, good for 60 days which can be extended for 30 days more you will have to go to either Penang, KL, or Kota Buru.

If 15 days enough for you, drive to Ranong and cross to Myanmar, either Kauwthung, or to the Andaman Casino Island on Burmese-Myanmar soil, nice convenient service! thumbsup.gif .

Nearest border I think.

If 30 days fit you, fly to another country and come back, in advance booked, flights from Surath Thani can be inexpensive with Air Asia, or make the above trip to Ranong - Myanmar two times.

If you want stay longer, a Tourist Visa, 60 days and possibility to prolong for another 30 days can be obtained in either Kotha Baru across the border in Malaysia or in Penang island - Malaysia.

Hi, thanks for the help. Do you know if a internal flight i.e Surat tunai to Bangkok will increase my visa to 30 days as I'm flying? Fed up of long buses every 15 days.

Many thanks

You must fly out of the country and return to get 30 days.

Why don't you go to an embassy or consulate and get a tourist visa instead of doing border runs every 15 days?

No, you have to use an International flight, cross a border, could same time make also a Visa on that trip.

With Air Asia Surat Thani - Kuala Lumpur return same day 3.350.- Baht Internet Price,

with Jetstar Airways, Surat Thani - Singapore return same day 4.000.- Baht in the moment

Wow thanks for the effort I'm really grateful. I spoke to a Thai lady today and she mentioned about going to immigration at Surat Tuani and paying to extend my visa? Is this possible and if so what is the procedure. Google answers are a bit ambiguous.

You do not have a visa .

Earlier in the thread you talked about getting another 15 days which suggests you have been obtaining 15 day visa exempt entries.

Immigration may give you 7 days in which to leave the country. It will cost 1900Bht. Immigration may wish to see your flight ticket.

Sorry I'm a bit naive and uneducated with this visa situation. What would be the most practical way to get longer on my visa from Suri Tuani. My visa expires on the 16th but I want to do my Padi course in Ko Tao so I was planning on (attempting) sorting my visa on Monday from Suri Tuani. Again, thank you for your help
