Police Bus Bombing: Four Officers Injured: Pattani
Picture from responders. A police bus convoy traveling along Route 42, between Narathiwat and Pattani, was bombed on the afternoon of September 27, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash off the road. The incident sparked alarm among the officers on board and passing motorists. The attack took place near Tabing Subdistrict, in the Sai Buri District of Pattani Province. According to reports, an IED, explosive device planted along the road was detonated as the bus passed by. The device had been hidden in a water meter cabinet on the side of the road. In the immediate aftermath, officers were seen exiting the crashed bus, and it was confirmed that four police officers were injured in the blast. The injured officers were all transported to Songklanagarind Hospital, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province , where their injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening. Authorities are treating the incident as a serious act of violence, as the bombing of the police bus marks another bold attack in the region. An investigation is currently underway to determine who was responsible for the bombing. -- 2024-09-28 -

Residents of Nonthaburi are calling for government intervention after a group of homeless individuals used their digital wallet funds, totaling 10,000 baht, to buy alcohol. The intoxicated group then defecated in public, causing distress due to the foul odor. A Facebook user recently posted images of human feces under the Rama IV Bridge in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, complaining about the issue and urging authorities to address it. The situation has reportedly persisted for some time due to the presence of numerous homeless individuals in the area. On September 27, reporters visited the scene and confirmed the presence of human waste, as previously reported. A homeless man, visibly intoxicated and soiled with feces, was found sleeping in a nearby parking lot. Attempts to communicate with him were unsuccessful, as locals confirmed he had a communication disability. Residents noted that after receiving funds from the government’s digital wallet program, a group of 4-5 homeless individuals regularly gathered in the area to drink alcohol. Mr. Sane Kotasombat, a 61-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, expressed frustration, saying the vagrants didn’t disturb anyone with noise but their public defecation created discomfort for passersby. He urged the authorities to intervene, as most of the individuals in question were mute and used sign language to communicate, reported Daily News. Mr. Surachai Sukklam, another motorcycle taxi driver, echoed these concerns. He noted that the group often drank in the area and urinated nearby, creating an unpleasant environment. Despite previous attempts by the Pak Kret municipality to resolve the issue, the problem persists. Locals are requesting that authorities take appropriate action to resolve the situation. How to retire in Thailand
If your visa is a Non-IMM O (Usually got in country or from an Embassy in a nearby country) then you do not need medical insurance. If your visa is a Non-IMM OA (Always got from home country or a country where you have permanent residency rights) then you will need Health Insurance. I don't think you have to have a >6 month rental contract as I'm sure there are quite a few guys who are more long term holiday makers & stay in hotels, with partners etc... but you will almost certainly need a TM30 which your hotel should provide for you - If you're staying with somebody then they should be able to register online & do your TM30. When you leave Thailand your 90 day report requirements stop & restart at Day 1 when you re-enter so if you came left Thailand on 1st June there would be no need to do your 90 day report on 30th June & when you came back on 30th August your next 90 day report would be due 27th November.
