BANGKOK: -- Nearly a month after Tai Daohuang fell to her death in the capital's Huai Khwang district, her parents are pleading with authorities to further investigate the circumstances of her death.

Several prominent women political figures have lent their support to a petition filed yesterday by the parents of the 20-year-old Lao woman asking the kingdom's top forensic's investigator to re-evaluate the case.

Tai's body was found eight floors below an apartment balcony on July 27, and police quickly ruled it a suicide.

Porn Daohuang and Tantawan Chaiyawongsa, her parents, point to circumstances they find suspicious about their daughter's death.

According to the Bangkok Post, Tai had been summoned to the apartment by its owner, who authorities will only identify as "Mr. Amnat." [read more...]

"Porntip said she lacked the authority to help".Gee this woman's a nasty piece of work!

Ok, I'm no fan of hers, but how do you draw that conclusion from this story?

Glad to see the Lao family not letting it get swept under the rug. Not sure there will be any satisfactory outcome though. Well, pretty sure there won't be.

Why don't you read the full report in the Bangkok Post before deciding who's a nasty piece of work?

Seems to me it`s a coverup of some kind going on . I would love to see the outcome . Please TV .follow this up

I think you'll find that ThaiVisa are not investigators or investigative journalists. TV reproduces the media reports, that's all.

Nor am I a fan... However; she really rolled over after the tsunami and she's rolling over now. Someone must have some serious dirt on her.

It's not the story that's in question, it's her.

This news report is false. No foreigners ever die in Thailand, and especially not under suspicious circumstances. Like lemmings, foreign nationals are drawn here by some vanished land bridge to commit suicide.

When will people worldwide finally learn that everything was perfect here, before they had nasty unfair elections and all that. Just look at the coups~! 18 just to clean up a mess other people made.

Long live unconstitutional monarchies!

Whoa, that's a frightening photo...!

According to the article:

"Imprints from Tai's fingers were found pressed into the balcony in a way that suggest she clung to the balcony's railing for some time before falling."

So Thai forensics went in an collected this data? I'm surprised they got that far if they weren't going to proceed...

From the news I read, it certainly sounds like a murder. I hope the story stays alive in the press so that further steps are taken.

I hope someone in Government will take up the Lao mother's request and get further investigation undertaken.

In regards to Porntip Rojanasunan a simple Google of her name brings up a large amount of information.

Like the Thai Police and her have had issues before. The Wiki is clear. She disagreed with Mr T and was basically dismissed by Yingluck in an underhand manner.

I would say she is pretty tough, but has had a tough time as well. The wiki paints a different story about the tsunami situation and its doubtful that she rolled over and more likely she was sabotaged.

The odd thing though was that she was a supporter of that GT200 bomb detecter that was later said to be fraudulent.

She has been delegated to reviewing official papers only and as she says she has no authority...! Maybe reading her autobiography would shed some more light.

How can anyone expect them to investigate when anyone who is not Thai is underclass ? Anyone foreign who falls from anywhere is always a suicide no matter if another ten people were on the balcony at the same time, especially if the other nine were Thai !

Anyway; living in the boonies i see people who die carted off in a box to the Temple almost every week. They are not all old or have been ill but nobody 'investigates' their death. Sometimes a Copper will turn up to write down a few notes about name, age and gender but not often. It's left to the family to sort out moving the corpse to a Temple or not moving it until day of burn. There are no autopsy's unless someone wants to pay so in the majority of cases nobody would ever know if someone had poisoned someone else for example. Death Certificates are issued at the local Amphur based on the words given by family members and most i have seen say cause of death 'Heart Failure'. I've seen it three times in my wife's family when in two of the cases they died of Cancer. When they don't care enough to make sure things are right in their own family departures they are going to care even less about any Foreigner no matter how they die.

isn't that the truth, if Thailand is such a lovely country to come to, then why are so many people killing them selves here, Thailand is slowly becoming a joke, maybe the building ghost threw her off. pathetic by the day
