As gambling is illegal in Thailand, I doubt anyone will really say if they ever are playing poker. Unless you're talking about playing just for fun, you might have a hard time finding a game. Thai people I have been around got scared when I even brought out a deck of cards thinking they were gonna get busted!

I would be up for a game only started playing it couple of months ago - so I am no Doyle Brunson

I don't know of any regular games in BKK but a couple more people interested we might be able to start one.

Although have you got some chips and decks and somewhere to play? (For Fun )

I did think about heading over to poipot but after some research as far as I can tell there is not 1 casino there who has holdem tables.

I play online for fake money, which isn't too realistic since with nothing really at stake, you just can't bluff, people with nothing will call, so it gets old. Waiting for the censors to block even that mundane, marginally entertaining (i.e., time-wasting) site.

great sociable game when played in smallatakes tournament fashion

play a bit on line, but nothing like the real thing.

i know a few lads in korat that play on line but to play for real even small stakes in thailand make sure you know and trust the people you are playing with.

I would prefer the tournament system ie everyone buys in for xxx MATCHSTICKS and receives say 1500 chips each.

And pay out winners position 1 and 2 with matchsticks - that is if we can get 5+ players to make it worth it.

Then repeat tournys until drunk or out of matchsticks

I am up for a game any time in BKK now.

say we rent a top hotel room (marriot etc..etc) with a view over bkk(nr nana of course!)

share the cost as a "rake " winner of whatever we arrange gets to stay while the rest of us sleep in some 400 baht a nite place

Well if your talking Marriott - The only solution is the evening winner has to shout the rest of us to a feed in the steak house....4000 matchsticks a head should cover that

I believe that Roadhouse has a Poker (card) table.

Not sure if they have cards and chips.
