The proper procedure for any motorised vehicle when approaching a rail level crossing, that is not a protected by either Boom Gates , flashing lights or gates, is to select the lowest possible gear , stop if necessary, looking both ways, ensure all lines are clear then proceed with caution , now how many would know that road rule. Also as a foot note, the per-way is private property and should be defined with white road markings, anyone on that property that causes any damage to STR equipment can be sued coffee1.gif

You now sometimes those barriers close even when the traffic lights are still green, it almost happened to me twice at the Ngamwongwan railway intersection. A scary thought....
