does it make difference if u are Thai or not thanks,

The difference is mainly in the supporting documents (address confirmation by immigration e.g.).

Dealers and land transport offices who are not experienced with handling farangs can give you a headache.

If it is a new car then the dealer will give you a red plate to use until the paperwork gets processed and your plates are delivered to the dealer. This could take from a week to 6 weeks as most dealers will hold all their paperwork and go to the Transportation office once a month. If it is from a used car dealer they will process the paperwork and if you buy from a private party you should both go to the transportation office when you buy the vehicle and get the registration changed to your name. No time limit here as you could drive the car in the old owners name as long as it has current registration sticker.
