Safe place to rent a motorbike for a week?

Whats a decent place to rent a motorbike for a week? Not the funny rip offs where they come with a second key at night and steal the bike etc.

The above never happened to me, but I was always told never to give them the real address as it would be a common scam.

Any recommendations where to rent one of those automatic scooters for a week and what price to expect?

Renting a couple of times from a booth next to my hotel at Soi Lengkee.

He knows where I stay, 30 m up the street.

Makes a passport copy.

Advance payment (1000) plus 1000 Baht deposit.

Supplys an addtional locker for the brake.

No problem ever.

If you are paranoid: bring your own locker with you (as is needed for hotels without room safe but lockers at the basement).

Not too big a locker as it has to fit the holes in the brake disk.

Asking to leave passport as "deposit"? Does it still happen?

Move on.

If you live at a hotel they will also usually "broker" and call a renter who delivers the bike to the hotel.

Also very unlikely that they work with a crook.

Hallmark bike rental ( formerly kassaya) is 2000 per month. Never a problem. Can't be beat!
