has anyone orderd these drugs online and had them stopped by customs ? I now know the law was changed in 2012 to make it illegal for farang to purchase have these drugs in Thailand without a prescription . And since 2012 Thai doctors cannot give a farang a prescription for this type of drugs . My question is am I in the jackpot ? Or are they just going to keep the pills . Online tracking says they are being held at the post office " item held due to import restriction " and the addresse will be notified . And yes now it was obviously stupid . But I never knew they changed the law . Anyone have a similar situation ? Thanks

You do know that these drugs can be purchased in Thailand

Buy Sidegra in any pharmacy in Thailand ( same molecule cialis than viagra but cheaper because made in Thailand, very good !)

"The Nation", September 27, 2012:

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/national/Local-version-of-Viagra-goes-on-sale-next-week-30191225.html

The GPO has produced Sidegra in two sizes—50mg at Bt100 for a four-pill pack and 100mg at Bt180 for a four-pill pack. A prescription is required to purchase Sidegra.

There are no laws on this specific to foreigners.

The drugs do by law require a prescription, regardless of the nationality of the patient. And doctors can legally prescribe them to any patient, regardless of nationality.

It is also illegal for anyone, Thai or foreign, to import pharmaceuticals without an import license from the FDA (which will only be issued to registered pharm businesses, health professionals etc).

So what you are trying to do is illegal on two counts. Since the post office has obviously figured out these are restricted items, you will not be able to take delivery.

Simply see a doctor and get a script (preferrably for the inexpensive generic form of sildenafil), then buy at a pharmacy.

Some posts discussing illegal activity have been removed.

Doesn't it depend on the amount imported ? When I ran out of some meds that are not available here , my family send some in a padded envelope , with nothing on it stating what was in it , and it arrived just fine.

Technically no, it doesn't. But in practice small amounts of non-controlled substances sent by regular post are often let through especially if not obviously labelled as a pharmaceutical. Dleiveries from companies and via courier, as well as anything that looks large, get more scrutiny.

no is illegal, you were lucky

I read about packages which were hold by customs and they acted very friendly. "You need an import license. Here you have it, but next time you make right, OK!"

Customs is more friendly here than in Farangistan, but you can't count on it that it is always the same....
