Family wants CSD to handle Chuwong’s unusual death

BANGKOK: -- Wife and sister of construction billionaire Chuwong Sae Tang died in an unusual van crash on June 26 today sought justice from the Royal Thai Police with request that the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) police take over investigation of the death from metropolitan police.

Mrs Sirirat Sae Tang, 51, wife of the dead billionaire, and sister Ms Wanpen Tanathamsiri, 54, submitted a petition to the commissioner of the Royal Thai Police via his spokesman Pl Lt Gen Prawut Thavornsiri this afternoon.

In the petition for justice, they reasoned that the CSD could handle the death probe more deeply as now they are also investigating his unusual share transfer worth over 300 million baht to two girls, one a stock broker who also worked as event show girl, and another, a caddy of a golf course who also worked as show girl.

They said the CSD have gained substantial evidence that indicated the share transfer was unusual that could link to his death

It was more appropriate if the CSD is permitted to merge the share transfer and the van crash together in the investigation.

They also said death investigation handled by Udomsuk station police was not complete as forensic autopsy report they received did not match what found out by the Medical Council of Thailand, and by the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Royal Thai Police.

They also feared that separating the two cases to investigate by two police agencies might complicate the investigation and the suspected mastermind might get loosed.

As the Thai police were in the process of borrowing a crash test dummy from Japan to simulate the crash, they would like the police not to jump into conclusion quickly the death cause until all suspicions are cleared.

The CSD said arrest warrant would be issued next week for more than two persons in the unusual share transfer.

Chuwong's sister, widow want CSD to lead probe
The Sunday Nation

BANGKOK: -- The elder sister and widow of the late construction billionaire Chuwong Saetang submitted a letter yesterday asking the national police chief to transfer the investigation into Chuwong's death from Udomsuk police in Bangkok to the Crime Suppression Division.

Lt-General Prawut Thavornsiri, the police spokesman, received the letter and said that Chuwong's sister Wanpen Thanathamsiri and widow Sirirat Saetang believed the CSD had interviewed witnesses and progressed a lot in gathering evidence - more than Udomsuk police.

Prawut insisted the request was not made because city police worked slowly. He said there was a possibility the probe could be taken over by the Central Investigation Bureau.

Wanpen said her family did not mean to rush police but wanted the case to be done carefully by an appropriate agency to ensure justice.

An informed source reported that the Royal Thai Police would instruct forensic officers, led by General Jarumporn Suramanee, to conduct a re-enactment of the June 26 car crash alleged to have killed Chuwong. That will involve officers using the same brand of vehicle Chuwong was travelling in when it left a golf course and crashed into a tree on Chaloem Phrakiat Road in Bangkok's Prawet district.

The car was driven by Chuwong's friend, former deputy commerce minister Banyin Tangpakorn. Banyin told police how fast he was driving and that speed would be used in the simulated re-enactment.

A city police source said that officers investigating the death were waiting to get the results of the CSD probe into the suspicious transfer of Bt300 million in shares that were owned by Chuwong.

The source described the case as challenging and said evidence must be gathered carefully, with 40 witnesses interviewed to date.

But you see how even billionaires struggle when others with power have different interests. That makes it sad, still love it here but realize that the corruption makes live hard for many people.

Borrowing a crash test dummy from Japan, sound like a load of crap to me and if they have no experience with these, then we can be sure the outcome of the test is already known. Will it be a TV event like Koh Tao DNA test.

This not the script for a Sherlock Holmes movie, this is the script for a Mr Bean movie.

More holes in this story than a chunk of Swiss cheese.

I would say that Mr Bean movies at least show some intelligence - a lit more than this complete fiasco, but then it is a Thai police investigation.

I doubt that was all he had, im fairly sure they still have quite a bit of money. Just shows that even the rich here are targeted not just the poor as in Ko Tao. Corruption is just a major problem and prevents justice.

How will you know they are ex billionaires, to be a billionaire means not explicit you having only 1 billion.

Anyway in case they had only 1 Billion, then there would be more as enough money left, to solve this case private, like others do also.

If now the rich killing each other, then probably these ppl start to realize, that big money is not an insurance, not to be killed and this is good so. This is probably the only way out of this vivious circle, that could change somethings back to a better society again. That's the hard way, but just human beeing.
