Fatbikes are the future of MTB?

I thought fatbikes were a clownish fad since the older ones were very heavy.

I have probably seen less than 10 people actually riding one in BKK the last 5 years so guess many others haven't thought of this bike too.

Now top end ones are lighter than average MTBs!

I saw a bunch at the recent Seacon Square show and realized this 10 year old fad is going to explode and deserves some research.

So I found this old but enlightening link and gotta say they look fun and make lots of sense.

Hopefully there will be many to check out at this weeks show at Impact Arena.

Silly looking or not, I like the idea of a bike that can easily roll over mud and sand that skinny tires get stuck in.
