NARATHIWAT: -- Seven soldiers were wounded as southern militants detonated a roadside bomb while they were returning to their base in two trucks shorty last night in Ruesor district of Narathiwat province.

The attack on troops traveling in a convoy of trucks happened shortly after midnight.

A group of 16 soldiers attached to Task Force 30 were returning to their base on a dirt road from Barangae village in Ruesor to Narathiwat.

They were sent to the village upon receiving information some militants were hiding there after hurling a hand grenade at a traffic police checkpoint in Ruesor district on Monday.

They found no trace of the militants in the village.

As they left the village along a dirt road on two pickup trucks, a bomb was remotely detonated.

The explosion hit the first vehicle and wounded seven soldiers. All the wounded were admitted to Ruesor hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Not a recently announced achievement then? Been going on for years. A part of the 20 year plan?

Leadership should step up and really deal with this NOW. Stop talking and make an effort!! There are Thai people being killed and maimed.

Surely dealing with this problem is more important than writing a song for happiness of Thai peoples? coffee1.gif
