PM inspects drought situation in northeast

UDON THANI, 18 March 2016 (NNT) –The Prime Minister has traveled to Udon Thani province to inspect work to remedy the drought situation.

Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha, joined by Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak, Minister of Interior Gen Anupong Paojinda, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Chatchai Sarikalya and other Cabinet members, has traveled to Udon Thani to hand out land deeds to 139 low-income citizens in line with a government program to support those in need.

The premier also chaired a hand out of funds to assist communities being impacted by the prolonged drought situation before traveling to observe measures being carried out to assist those affected by the water shortage.

Afterward, the prime minister was scheduled to meet with bodies set up to manage water in the northeastern region using the civil-state approach.
