BANGKOK: -- The annual Thai Red Cross Fair at Amphorn Garden starts today.

Traffic jams are expected this afternoon and after office hours on several roads leading to the fair site.

Visitors to the fair are advised to use public transport such as BMTA buses and taxis as parking areas are limited, and traffic is expected to be congested.

Traffic police will close traffic to Sri Ayutthaya road this afternoon from Wat Benjamabopit to First Army Division intersection, to Rajadamnoen Nok from the Royal Plaza to Suan Misakawan, and to U-thong Nai road from U-thong-Ratvithi intersection to the Royal Plaza.

Motorists are advised to avoid these roads and adjacent places as it will be inconvenient due to expected large numbers of visitors to the fair after office hours today.

Free shuttle buses operate on three routes. 1) Sanam Luang – thewet, 2) Victory Monument – Nang Loeng Race Course, and 3) Hua Lam Pong train station – Nang Loeng Race Course from today until April 7.

Seven bus routes to the fair are Bus Routes No 16, 23, 70, 72, 503, 505 and 509.
