immunologist in pattaya

Sad to say, but I've found better specialists in Bangkok. Not sure how serious your problem is, but you might want to consider this. The best docs are in Bangkok. Some do visit Pattaya, but many don't.

You could try Gavin at Phya Thai Hospital in Sri Racha. Super guy to work with and will let you know if they can handle your situation or not.

I'm also interested in this as i have some serious immune system damage that my UK immunologist will sort out but I will need a maintenance immunologist here in Thailand and may need to get hold of some seriously expensive plasma. Don't want to have to repatriate to the UK.

Maybe Sheryl will look in on the thread. I was planning on kicking off my research when I visit my Pulmonologist later this month at Bumrungrad. I'll post any findings here for the OP's benefit.

Not HIV by the way!

This seems to be going beyond Pattaya. How about we move this over to the health forum and see what others say? A link will be left in the Pattaya forum.

If the OP desires to have it moved back to the Pattaya forum, just let me know and I'll do that.

Best of luck!

Topic Moved.

You won't find this in Patttaya; have to come to Bangkok. To make a doctor recommendation I need to have some idea of the problem. Doctors dealing with immunology here broadly fall into groups, those who treat allergies and those who treat autoimmune disorders. The latter are usually rheumatologists and may have expertise/ special interest in specific diseases

Sheryl,

my case is actually for my wife, who developed chronic allergies about two years ago. It's at a point

where she can't eat anything besides rice soup with pork, and also can't apply any body lotions, etc.

She loved to put on makeup, now can not. Even coconut oil will make her break out.

It all started when she developed endometriosis, and was put on progesterone to keep that in check.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter what type of progesterone she takes now. The allergies are severe

and do no go away.

Many Thanks,

luudee

PS: Moderator01, I think that was a great idea - thank you !

My Bumrungrad pulmonologist has recommended Dr Hiroshi Chantapakul (he happens to be one of three posited by Sheryl in post #9 above) for my discussion on autoimmune disorder treatment (potential need for Autoimmune Replacement Therapy) and I'll be seeing him in the second week of July. Looks good on paper - 4 years in the US, specialising in immunology and rheumatism. Seems like he also covers allergies.

Too late for Luddee maybe but I'll report back for the benefit of those who use ThaiV subsequently for reference.

...and I saw him two nights ago. Very personable and authoritative but quietly and confidently spoken with excellent English. No BS and quite open about it being much cheaper to pursue an expensive course of treatment at a university hospital or large regional public hospital than at Bumrungrad.

When I first sat down he said two things that impressed me. Firstly "I've read your medical history and all the documents (recent clinic letters) you sent me" - and he clearly had. Second thing he said was "you're a long way short of needing autoimmune replacement therapy" Huh? said I. "I can tell from the demeanour and palour of anyone walking in here if they might need such a treatment and you do not fit that bill"

Of course on the basis of a 20 minute conversation that was information seeking only you cannot have enough exposure to recommend unreservedly, but he ticked all the right boxes for me.

Bumrungrad charged 2,000 baht for doctor fees which also included a 10 minute session on my lung condition with an experienced pulmonologist who was reviewing me prior to a CT scan. Surprisingly reasonable!
