Back many decades ago while teaching at a Thai university, they had all us faculty and students line the street in the blazing midday sun to greet a VIP and in the end all we got was a gargantuan photo of said VIP atop a truck.

There are many rumours in the UK of far darker reasons for Leicester sucess.

cess" is b**** . Another premiership club bankrolled by a wealthy foreign billionaire!

what other sporting side or person ever won at 5000-1? the same odds as Elvis coming back laugh.png a team of nobodies, rejects and recycled players that other teams did not want that went on to beat teams costing 10x as much led by a manager who was widely ridiculed and predicted to be the first sacked. It was a remarkable achievement.

How can a team fighting for relegation go and win the league the following season?

How can a striker whom was playing non league, get a transfer to LCFC, perform to a very average level, suddenly become the 2 nd highest scorer in the Prem' and play for England?

The same player as he has aged , has gained considerable speed and stamina.

Amazing Jim!

oh come on what are the rumors then? Vardy was not playing non league before he came to Leics, he played for Fleetwood and before that Halifax town, scored plenty of goals there.

As a football and general sporting fan, I am very suspicious of any athlete whom suddenly improves his fitness/conditioning by a considerable level. Even more so , when the athlete gains considerable pace/stamina as he/she ages.

In a Premier league season that has seen very poor performances from City, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool it still is a total shock that Leicester City finished above them all and by a considerable points margin.

Also there injuries, or to be more accurate , lack of injuries was simply amazing. Especially considering they had a very limited/delayed pre season.

so you are accusing Vardy of suddenly getting a lot better due to drug cheating, you should look at his record before coming out with nonsense to see if it fits, it does not. He was always good, always fast and has always scored goals

After joining Northern Premier League side F.C. Halifax Town in 2010. Scoring 26 goals in his debut season, he won the club's "Player's Player of the Year" award, then moved to Conference Premier side Fleetwood Town in August 2011 for an undisclosed fee. He scored 31 league goals in his first season at his new team, winning the team's "Player of the Year" award as they won the division.

In May 2012, Vardy signed for Leicester City in the Football League Championship for a non-League record transfer fee of £1 million, and helped the team win the Championship in 2014. In the 2015–16 Premier League season, he scored in eleven consecutive Premier League matches, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's record, and was voted the Premier League Player of the Season and FWA Footballer of the Year as outsiders Leicester won the title. He made his international debut in June 2015.

MorristheRunt rimes with ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, James Hunt. And he was written off as a playboy before winning his world championship.

Actually Morris the answer may be that all those overpaid, vastly overpaid, very average players who cost ridiculous amounts of money have been shown up for what they are. Overrated, overpaid, under performers.

If you look to all teams sports you will find examples of underdogs doing extra ordinarily well in one or two seasons. It's a wake up call for those prima donnas who believe their gifted so don't have to bother trying or working hard.

Just ask any Spurs fan how their "stars" who were being hailed as playing like the old Brazilian maestros did against already relegated Newcastle.

I had become somewhat reclusive with that spell of record breaking high temps, so my Thai mates thought they should do something about it and called around early yesterday evening to hi-jack me for a cool drink. (they paid BTW)

They represent your average Thai family men from diverse occupations. I expected them to be overjoyed about the Leicester win. Naturally, being football lovers they all support an English Team - none of which happens to be this one, which is why they didn't give a large rodents rectum and were totally underwhelmed by it all.

Not that they don't like Leicester City at all. Just that they hate King Power.

We were of the opinion that 'Charity Begins At Home'

passifier.gif FOOTBALL So bloody boring!

Sissy Boys play footie whilst Real Men play Rugby!

Exactly, in football they are always playing the ball BACKWARDS where as in Rugby the ball and the game is always moving FORWARDS and sissy footballers are always collapsing in a show of pain when Rugby players continue with fractured eye sockets and even broken legs !

Exactly ? You know it is illegal to pass the ball forward in rugby.

Still we can overlook that if it means getting a dig in.

To avoid conflict of interests or differences of opinion is always best to assume that if it is printed in The Sun therefore it is true.

Or is it the other way around?

Perhaps I will ask a sun journalist or perhaps not

I am not accusing anyone, but I don't believe in fairy tales either, not in one of the strongest leagues in the world.

You can and do have shock winners in a cup competition, but over 38 games in a season...NO

Do I think there are performance drugs in the Premier league?....100% certain.

The Leicester story is an incredible one, for me just too incredible,
