Received a gift from Thailand, don't know what it's for, need help

Hi all,

I know this is a long shot, but I can use some help. A friend of mine just got back from Thailand a few days ago and brought me this jar as a present. She got it at a local pharmacy, I think. I'm always looking for new natural ingredients to add to my face creams and foods so she figured I'll know what to do with her present. Unfortunately, I don't speak the language so I have no idea what's actually inside this jar.

Any help from you fine folks would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

What is obvious: it's another type of rub-on balm ("yamong").

It is made from black sesame seeds.

You will find a lot of praises for eating black sesame seeds (just google).

But what the effect of a balm is?

I searched around and could not find much specific about the black sesame balm.

Just about the same as other balms promise.

From a retailer's website (my rough translation):

"Mother Rose" brand black sesame balm.

200 g contains 20 g sesame, 20 g patchouli, 20 g camphor

It heals pain, tingling, sensitivity, broken bones, insect bites, sprains, bruises, itchy skin, haemorrhoids.

Rub into the affected part.

Hello ,this looks like nigella sativa ,you can get in seeds for in indian foods and in oil form for health benefits this form as a rub i haven't seen yet but when you apply toppicaly it's used for acne .

If it is indeed black cumin then this is excellent for the treatment of various cancers such as breast, colon, brain (stem cell glioma), oral, leukemia etc: not only that but it reduces the number of seizures in epileptics, is good for the heart and can kill MRSA - not bad for a little black seed!!

I don't suppose you've got any links to an actual peer reviewed medical study on any of those claims?

These ARE peer reviewed studies - I suppose you consider peer reviewed studies carried out by researchers given massive grants to report what they want the findings to be as ones you can believe.

If something is not patentable then they ensure that the peer reviewed studies that show the efficacy of a compound don't see the light of day.

I suppose you are going to say something silly like "cancer is incurable" next.

I prefer thousands of case studies (of people finding natural cures) to these contrived fake ones that big pharma sponsors and the FDA (most dangerous organisation in the world) colludes on.

All you have done is listed some Colleges and universities. You have not provided 1 case study (do you mean systemic reviews?), let alone thousands. http://apus.libanswers.com/faq/2154

Many different types of cancers are curable. But I would bet Steve Job's fortune they weren't cured by black cumin seeds

Funny you should mention Steve Jobs - he had pancreatic cancer but died from the consequences of taking immune-suppressant drugs following a liver transplant.

NO cancer is cured with chemotherapy as this only obliterates tumour cells, normal cells and any surrounding tissue that it pervades. It actually introduces more aggressive secondary cancers later on in life (maybe not that much later on) and doesn't eliminate the 2% of stem cancer cells that metastasise the cancer into other organs. Oh!, not to mention that it completely destroys your immune system that is the one imperative thing you need to fight cancer

I can give you dozens of natural substances that work at eliminating cancer by numerous means and have BEEN SHOWN to cure cancer in ACTUAL case examples (even with stage 4 terminal cancers).

I have recently had a skin biopsy taken as my doctor suspects that I may have skin cancer. I didn't blink an eye when he told me this as getting rid of this is 'easy as pie' - I am going to make a paste with honey, baking soda, black pepper, turmeric and apple cider vinegar. Apply this for a week and the cancer (if it turns out to be cancer) will simply fall off.

From Wiki: I believe this more than your ludicrous claims.

How does your paste "cure" the metastases?

Chemistry

Nigella sativa oil contains conjugated linoleic (18:2) acid, thymoquinone, nigellone (dithymoquinone),[11] melanthin, nigilline, and trans-anethole.[6]

Preliminary human research

Mainly for its seed oil extract, thymoquinone, N. sativa is under research for its potential to affect human diseases,[12] such as cancer or medical conditions such as dyspepsia,[13][14] although studies to date remain insufficient to understand its potential for clinical efficacy.

 You believe Wicki!!!

Believe what you like but I prefer unbiased independent resources that I know I can trust.

My paste contains anti-cancer and PH raising substances creating an environment where cancer cannot flourish.

I may swap the ACV for lemon juice as this is the most body alkalising substance on the earth.

Less complex mixes than this work - maybe with only 1 or 2 of these ingredients, but my previous occupation as a research chemist persuaded me to add further ingredients to ensure it works (and it DOES work).

I don't think it would be a good idea to eat something containing camphor.

Independent research you can't reference. Instead of giving a list of hospitals or universities it would help everyone if you could give a link to a journal article that supports your assertion.

Look! I don't have to prove anything to anyone.

I know, through my research 'the whole story' on health and specifically all of the lies put out there by 'big pharma', 'big food' and the whole of the US health industry and world governments with their 'upside down' health (advice). The lies and fabrications on virtually every aspect of health related issues is staggering and is designed to fool the unwary and gullible public. I could reveal so many things that you wouldn't believe but I won't bother as it would be a futile exercise.

Why don't you continue supping up the propaganda put out by these money grabbing organisations and companies and I will carry on protecting my health and dealing with anything that besets me (I don't suffer illness any more and cured my 'incurable' ulcerative colitis in a week having suffered with this for 40 years)!!

This is what I mean by actual case examples - my doctor advised me against doing what I did but I ignored him and cured something in myself that THEY say was incurable. Wrong, wrong and wrong again - never trust a doctor after his diagnosis!! Fix yourself naturally, it is so easy for virtually any disease you can name.

I am not offering advice but simply revealing my own personal experiences and self educating on the matter of health.

Depends on whether you believe independent researchers or the fabrications' and lies of big pharma in their desperation to bury any threats to their bottom line in providing natural cures that are proven to work (without the dire side affects) of synthetic drugs.

No he didn't. There are plenty of sources out there describing what happened. I would quote them, but I see you you wouldn't trust them as they don't align with your belief structure.

Whilst not perfect, it cites studies, trials, and references peer reviews etc.

Me too. Here is a web site where you can get all the unbiased, big pharma free GMO free, no chemtrails; facts: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/

As you are a former research chemist, you do know that lemons are mildly acidic and only have an alkalising effect for your skin after digestion. So putting it in some sort of homemade paste and putting on your skin will do the opposite to what you want. (not that I subscribe to what you say will do anything).
