Chinese credit card fraudsters arrested in Hua Mark, Bangkok

BANGKOK:-- Police in Hua Mark have announced the arrest of five Chinese nationals for credit card fraud.

The gang had used stolen information on fraudulent cards they had produced in China and brought to Thailand for a shopping spree.

The arrived in the kingdom on Wednesday but were in custody by Friday after reports of fraud came from Kasikorn Thai bank to police.

Arrested outside a hotel in Ramkhamhaeng were Bai Woei, 32, chang Chu Jiang, 49, Sui Chai Wei, 39, Liw Yoo Ming, 46 and 48 year old Chen Ji.

Police recovered fake cards, phones, flash drives, a device for recording information on credit cards and other incriminating evidence.

They estimated that the gang had purchased goods totaling a million baht since Wednesday.

They were all charged with fraud and theft and detained.

I'm sure credit card fraud is nothing new for China but crimes like these used to be committed by nationalities from a different part of the world. guess with the influx of chinese tourist in recent times have brought their crime syndicates with them too.
