Hi,

Anyone have experience here getting a dependent Non-o visa based on retired husband? I am still less than 50 so I still don't qualify for retirement visa.  What are the requirements and which consulate is the best (easier) to get the non-o visa?

Thanks for your help.

Does your husband have an extension of stay based upon retirement or a OA visa?

You can get a non-o visa and then an extension of stay as his dependent.

Vientiane or Penang would both be good locations to a single entry non-o visa.

You will need a copy of his passport photo page and extension of stay stamp page.

When I retired had my HR staff convert my B visa to O visa based on retirement. Needed 800K baht in fixed deposit account for 3 months prior. My wife and child got O visa as my dependents. Only needed to show passports, marriage, birth certificate and our yellow house book. For 1 year extention same process but this year got a old hag Imm Officer who wanted our child to apply for Ed visa and wife follow the Ed visa as dependant and me alone for retirement. That would mean wife needs to open 400K baht account.  Imm Officer has supreme power like this. But she processed as is and said next year she may not accept same.

ALMOST at the point of moving where imm offices are at least decent; i have thought of dual residences due to this behavior
