They must have scouts looking for any shred of a story that will paint Thailand in a positive light for Tourist.
Perhaps treating every Tourist with respect and not devising at every opportunity a Way to fleece them for everything would help?
Also having more Tourist friendly Law would help-

My Wife My Son and Myself are departing Thailand MONDAY PERMANTLYFlying Qantas
All the extra precautions were easy to deal with
Pre departure Deceleration done online very smooth with Vaccination certs and approvals in minutesAustralia only require a RAT test administered at a Clinic with a certificate issued by a doc for entry now (500 Bhat ) each for pre departure testing.
Ticket prices were reasonable with Unlimited date changes free of charge if required
Cost 48,000 for 3 adults + 110kg of luggage BKK to Brisbane one stop over in SYD ( we choose to spend the day in SYD on layover 7 Hours) but 1 hour layovers are available.Now if you wanted to RETURN to Thailand that is another story.
No way would I risk getting a dodgy test and hauled off to a hospital/Quarantine and forced to pay for the pleasurer.
Too many hoops, Flip flops, and possibility of getting screwed on the Thai side.I Had a Friend recently get snatched away arriving in Thailand and a False positive Covid test he was FORCED to a Quarantine and charged for his stay until he Tested NEG for 2 or 3 tests over a week..

Meaning I was walking with a group of people in front of me and this guy came out of a red light turning right.
I was very carful but there are some things you don't expect.
The guy clearly had no idea or was just indifferent to any road rules or actually wanted to maim or kill someone.. that's just normal here.
Accidents are unexpected This guy literally barged his car through a group of people thinking he had rite of way THATS NOT AN ACCIDENT!
Bit like the Ahole that mounted a Footpath and killed people who were waiting at the bus stop?-

Well me crossing a zebra crossing while a green walk light and a red no turn signal did not help me the Thai guy ran over my foot and broke my toe.
Police were more concerned that I might have damaged the "red plate" car when I slammed my hand down on his side panel when screaming in pain.
I was expected to pay for "damage"
The Driver and the police could give stuff the driver rand a red and struck a pedestrian on a Zebra.
The driver even made the excuse that he thought green walking man light ment he was allowed to drive over the Zebra.
This is the la k of care, training, honesty that Is dragging this place down.
It will always be a Developing 2nd tier..

I once had a fine that I had to pay at the station.
After I got the receipt my wife said it said fine for not wareing seatbelt...I was on a motorcycle..

I also know how at my BIL station

Hardly ever show up to work

Do plenty of illegal more than the average local because they can.
Excuses for all the behavior is not acceptable.
Pay is <deleted> but they still BRIBE their way into the force for a reason.
It's an easy job that you can get away with most things and can make money on the side.
Ànd they will let anyone who has the money join.

No surprises
All the police I know are very poorly educated and have in the past had access to any lone they wanted..
Almost all of the loaned money was blown on totally useless garbage.
My Brother in law is a senior police in a semi rural town he is in debit up to his eyeballs and has NOTHING to show for it.
The Dmax has new wheels and a massive sound system but is falling apart..
The Honda City has new tires and wheels but is falling apart and is never serviced.
The house (my wife owns due to her taking over the finances on it ) is falling apart while he lives in it for free..
The family rice farm my wife owns due to the same reason he took out unserviceable lone using the farm as leverage..
BIL is in debit so much his entire salary is used to service his lones.
The family of 6 live off the his wifes School teacher salary lucky she is quite smart and practical..Every time we visit Mum and Dad BIL askes me what he should do to make some money... I have given up trying to help he is a moron and from what I know all his mates at the station are in the same predicament..
Giving these morons access to lone is just stupid but hey when has the government done anything that is not..-

Thailand needs to be a high quality tourist destination first!!
If you are a High roller Tourist there is far better places to go and be treated with respect, feel valued and relax than Thailand.
IMO Thailand needs to:
Legalize Weed
Legalize ProstitutionRelax All laws on Alcohol
Legalize GamblingAim for Mass Tourism
Let the Hordes come for fast and free time .
Thailand should do what it did best back in the 80-90's a cheap, sleazy and dirty place.There is NO WAY IN HELL Thailand will ever be considered a Top spot for a high roller.
If these morons at TAT keep this up Thailand has NO HOPE of recovering!
The mentality of Thailand with its Corruption, Lack of accountability when things go wrong due to negligence or out right dishonesty and Total Lack of what a real first class destination is.
The must save Face at all cost and never admit wrong doing mentality that is part of a the Thai/Chinese psyche is what will forever stop Thailand being anything close to a high tier Hospitality tourist destination.

As a High roller Tourist there is far better places to go and be treated with respect, feel valued and relax than Thailand.
