  1. A friend in the uk keeps telling me how he’s made great progress in his weight loss quest by following some thing called the OMAD diet . I have done some google searching about this type of diet and over all the comments generally seem positive.

The One Meal A Day (OMAD) diet is a form of intermittent fasting where you fast for 23 hours and eat for the same 1-hour window each day.

Just wondering if any one here is currently doing / has in the past been on this OMAD routine and can comment on how things worked out .

Any one else here watch Mukbang videos , and if you do wadya think ????   if you have not watched a Mukbang video then have a look as I'm sure you will become an instant fan ???? ???? ???? ???????? ????

Another explanation for that slight glow in the right-most LED of your new KKMoon Socket Tester is not what I suggested earlier as perhaps a [minute electrical] leakage into that LED.

It is more likely that the three LEDs are not "photonically" shielded from each other within the device.  In other words, light, not electrons, is leaking from the middle LED to illuminate the right-most one.

You can safely ignore the slight glow.

    Appreciate the advice ????

In a previous post of mine on this thread, I had read the original poster's photograph of his voltage meter as reporting "98" (i.e., 98.0) volts (no decimal point was visible in the meter's screen, and the dial was pointing to the appropriate 500v AC range), which prompted my warning.  Now I read it was really just 0.98 volts, a big difference!

As Crossy points out, the slight glow of the right-most LED is probably insignificant and can be ignored -- once you have looked inside the wall outlet to verify the colored wires are going to the right terminals.

Perhaps one needs a tester of the KKMoon ("KKM5 socket tester") outlet tester, which may have some slight internal leakage into its right-most LED! ????

    Sorry my mistake

    It was 98V AC

Are you sure the outlet you are plugged in to is correctly wired? If so then a glow from the 3rd LED probably means nothing.

There are not many of these testers that will work correctly in Thailand unfortunately. Since you got it on-line could you post a link to the advert please.

Ive looked at the back of the outlet and it seems to be correct , I'm going to go around the house and look in the back of all the wall socket outlets .

I purchased the outlet tester from here

  7. Just an update

First a Big thank you to every one for your kind help and advice .

I placed an order for an outlet tester ( coming from abroad ) in the mean time I decided to replace the old Earth rod with a new longer one.  Once I had replace the Earth rod the problem with the voltage  0.98 V AC , between the HDMI and an Earth connection instantly disappeared .

Then the outlet tester finally arrived so I plugged it into a house mains wall socket , but looking at the instructions that came with the outlet tester , the correct ‘’ no problems detected ‘’ indication should show only 2 red LED lights lit so LED no. 3 far right should not be on.

When I tested all my house mains wall sockets , both LED’s No. 1 and 2 were brightly lit , but LED no. 3 ( which should not be lit ) was glowing slightly .

the photograph shows the outlet tester plugged into a house wall socket , and the No.3 red LED glowing slightly.

I’m not sure what is going on and what it means if LED No. 3 is glowing slightly .

Any one have an idea ?

  8. Ok, so I thought I would try this , unplug the HDMI lead from the external monitor that was connected to my laptop ( and still making my hand tingle ) and use my multimeter set to AC volts , then put one multimeter probe into an Earth connection on a wall socket and the other multimeter probe onto to the metal part of the HDMI plug . this is what I get ????

So, the cable seems to be securely connected to the rod?   (Not obvious in the photo.)

You've confirmed that your outlets actually have the earth cable connected?

Report voltage between:  L-N, L-E, N-E  (at the CU)

    Then wait for Crossy.

Thanks , sorry yes in the photograph it does not really show it , but when I pulled the White Earth wire connected to the Earth rod , it felt well connected without any movement or play.

I Have just taken the voltages at the CB board with my digital multimeter

    L-N = 230 V

    L-E = 231 V

    N-E = 0 V

I have taken the wall socket front plates off and I can see that every wall socket outlet has a white Earth cable connected to it.

  10. Thanks to every one for your advice and comments

Well Ive been and looked a bit more at the house electrical wiring and this is what Ive found so far.

In the single phase CB board in the lounge there is a large white Earth cable that runs up into the loft area then down some yellow plastic pipe , and out side the house .

The out side earth rod that the White Earth cable connects to , seems to be similar to the round metal thats used when making some thing concrete ( rebar ) . I tried to scratch the Earth rod top to see if it showed any sighs of being made of copper , but could not see any copper colour .

The White Earth cable attached to the Earth rod seems to be some how soldered to it , rather than having some sort of clamp or screwer connector.

The White Earth cable seems to be well fastened to the Earth rod . I am not sure how deep the Earth rod goes into the ground . The earth looks sandy and slightly damp.

I'm not sure if its now best to replace the existing Earth rod for a new one , and is there any way I can test to see if the house Earthing  is OK ( I have a digital multimeter ) .

Any suggestion or advice please .

  11. Thanks every one for your comments and thoughts

Well Ive watched some more episodes of this reality TV show , and I’m lost for words after sitting through two episodes called - Steven & Justin Assanti ( part 1 and part 2 )

Watching these two episodes was about as much as I could take with out bursting a blood vessel or throwing some thing at my TV set ☹️

The 2 episodes follow two brothers that are vastly over weight ( Steven & Justin Assanti ) but its Steven that takes the prize for being a right **nt ???? .

If you have the stomach to watch this youtube video clip of Steven Assanti in action you will get a glimpse of what the episodes are like.

WARNING – The video contains distressing content and VERY offensive language .

If you do get to watch the two episodes in question I would love to hear your thoughts

  12.

For some time now I started to notice a strange thing , if I lightly touch my hand on my PC tower computer or my portable laptop case while they are running I feel what I would describe as a slight hum or light tingling feeling on my skin . Both the computer PC and laptop are connected to separate computer monitor screens sitting on my computer desk. Both these monitors are plugged into separate mains wall sockets. The only way I can get the hum or light tingling feeling on my hand to stop ,  is if I un plug the HDMI cable from the monitor to the PC tower computer or my portable laptop . But as soon as I re connect the monitors HDMI plug to either the PC or laptop the hum or light tingling feeling returns.

Any suggestions or advice most welcome:thumbsup:

  13. This scary thought has just gone through my mind ???? , there you are in the hospital for a minor problem , before you see a doctor your BP is checked and you are told that your BP is high . You then see the doctor who treats your minor issue but then they say I see your BP numbers are high , let's take your BP again????

The second BP test still shows your BP numbers are raised and the doctor recommends that you go on a course of drugs to lower your high BP . When in fact all your suffering from is the dreaded WCS

    Makes me wonder ????‍⚕️

  14. Over the years here in Thailand I have been to both private and government hospitals along with a few clinics . Nearly every time while being checked by a member of staff before seeing a Doctor I had my blood pressure taken . After checking my blood pressure I was on many occasions told that my blood pressure was high . So when I returned home from the hospital / clinic visit I again re check my blood pressure using my Omron HEM- 7130 monitor , and always my home blood pressure reading was in its normal ideal BP range and showing a lower reading than the BP results I received from a hospital.

Every one in my family ( 5 ) also checks their BP readings using the same Omron HEM- 7130 monitor and the result numbers do vary , so the monitor seems to be working ok.

I have put the high BP numbers when visiting a hospital / clinic down to the White Coat Syndrome ----

White coat hypertension, more commonly known as white coat syndrome, is a phenomenon in which people exhibit a blood pressure level above the normal range, in a clinical setting, though they do not exhibit it in other settings. It is believed that the phenomenon is due to anxiety experienced during a clinic visit.

So today I went to a local clinic to obtain a Doctors certificate that may be required when I go to renew my 5 year driving license. The receptionist checked my BP and low and behold I was told my BP was high ( 149 / 79 ) HR – 66 .

So 30 minuets later I’m back at home and I check my BP on the Omron HEM- 7130 monitor and its shows ( 112 / 65 ) HR 62 , which is within the range I normally see.

With so many continuing BP result away from home saying that my BP is high , as apposed to my home BP monitor’s lower BP numbers I’m starting to wonder if there may be some thing that I’m missing .  I am now wondering about going to a Boot’s the Chemists branch or some where else I could get a BP test thats not in a hospital / clinic , that would negate any possibility of the White Coat Syndrome phenomenon .

Any thoughts or suggestions or am I just worrying to much ????

  15. One of the many questions that keeps running through my mind after watching all these morbidly obese people is this.

How do they let them selves get to the point in their lives where they are so obliviously overweight , surely any sane person who glances in a mirror will instantly be concerned and shocked by what they see . How can these people look in a mirror and see looking back at them a gargantuan beached whale and then pick the phone up and place an order for vast amounts of takeaway food for them selves.

    Any one ????

The capacitor you are playing with is only for speed control and if it were faulty it would still run on high speed. There is usually a start/run capacitor in the housing above the motor.

Thanks , Ive had another look at the fan unit and cannot see any more components in the housing other than the 3 wire capacitor and a pull switch that control's the speed .

  17. I came across a TV reality series called My 600-lb Life .Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals that weight around 600 pounds (270 kg). The TV show follows each individual on their weight loss journey including undergoing bariatric surgery.

The TV show its self has turned out to be both fascinating and at the same time very annoying . The majority of these participants seem to be women and listening to their endless excuses as to why they became so over weight becomes so annoying that I find my self actually shouting at the TV set ‘’ stop eating all that crap ‘’ . These women seem to be endlessly saying that the reason they are now in such a life threatening overweight situation was because as a child their mother or father did not love them , or their parents divorced or when they were at school they were bullied and called fatty or I got pregnant at 14 and my husband abused me then we broke up . I met someone else, I got pregnant again he cheated on me and we broke up. In the next breath they proclaim Oh my leg hurts or how life is so hard for them to go on living . They go on to say say how hungry they are or I know I’m going to die soon , and then start shoveling more Big Mac’s or extra large pizza in their mouth .

Any one else here watching My 600-lb Life and if so whats your take on the people that are 600 lbs or more overweight and how do you react to what you are seeing .

WARNING - The video Contains disturbing images and may induce you to become annoyed and want to shout aloud – Stop eating All That Crap .

Don't suppose there's been any update on this ? I've just been searching the forums to find out how to embed a video and the only thing I can find are the topics started by Tywais in 2015 that are outdated.

I'm still trying to find an update on how to Embed a Youtube Video in a first post and not how to Embed a Youtube Video in a reply post . Any one have an update ?
