Apparently the person responsible for Adam's demise has been arrested and is being held in Pattaya just now.
This article details the circumstances around his arrest and he is expected to be in court on Monday morning.
Allegedly the incident occurred near ‘Paradise Bar’ in Soi Khao Noi.
As for Adam's condition he is supposedly showing signs of slight movement but has an infection near his wounds which is a cause for concern for his doctors in the UK. Today is the largest push for donations and requests for support and is dubbed 'PickleAID day' by supporters.
A massive thank you to the many, many people from Pattaya and beyond for their assistance up to this point - it's been remarkable to see such positivity and union from across our communities.
Here's the PickleAID Facebook page for details of events and for ways to donate should you see fit.
Please, please let others know through your social networks and let's hope that Adam gets well and that justice prevails.

Hello all,
I am no longer in Thailand but would like to try and address a few of the issues that have been brought up here and hopefully raise the profile of Adam's plight.
Pattaya is a mixed bag when it comes to the variety of people who live there. Whilst it's easy to adopt a cynical attitude for yet another 'farang in trouble' story I've seen countless communities raise funeral costs, medical assistance and even flights out of Thailand when one of their fold absolutely needs it. These could be friends from the bar, the owner of the bar, golfing chums or even biker buddies.
Whilst Pattaya has a reputation for boozy whoring and touring Westerners there is another side to it which very much tries to enrich the lives of local pockets of need. The Jesters club, Melissa Cosgrove Foundation, L.I.F.E Foundation, Father Ray Foundation and many more all garner funds internationally and from many expats and wealthy Thais to promote social justice and bring more equality to those at the bottom end of the social strata.
Adam Pickles is a champion for these causes and makes sure to include their ethoses within his teaching practise. Exposing privileged children to poverty in a tactile and respectful way has created a bridge at each end and ongoing initiatives continue to develop understanding across their differences. Increasing the quality of life for all is a key component to modern pedagogy which he and many of his colleagues at Regent's do above-and-beyond their roles as teachers.
The teaching community itself is small. Whilst it is expected that some aspects of the grittier side of Pattaya can bleed into how the school runs, it is minimal and policed by high standards and reflective ideals which overcome the many, many differing aspects of living and working there. Adam is a man of well repute and you can see how much he has touched the lives of so many people over his years by reading the comments from friends, colleagues, students and even strangers on his Facebook group. I know and trust him and his partner and can explicitly state that he is one of the people that this planet needs for as long as possible.
Now onto the handout part; any efforts at all from sponsored events, raffles, donations (No matter how large or small) or simply increasing of his story's profile through your social networks would be very much appreciated by everyone concerned for him just now. If, at minimum, you could add a link to his Facebook group it would be of tremendous help.

As for why the Pattaya press haven't covered his story I am at a loss. I think the small weights and balance checks of not losing face and keeping tourism turning might have a hand in it, which is a real shame when a good man's life is caught in those balances.
Sorry for rambling on, I know this forum contains a lot of characters and attitudes. I hope I have conveyed Adam's story well to you and that you can be of assistance.

Whilst my little issue of wanting to know if the Asian Food Channel is still on BTV isn't as topical as street fighting katoi or Tony's food hall it can be easily resolved by anyone who has Banglamung Television.
So, pretty please, can someone tell me if they still have the Asian Food Channel (It was 80 on my tv set before) and perhaps some advise to get it back if it still is in existence.
Thanks in advance

Hello everyone and a happy Saturday to you,
On Thursday both Syfy and Universal weren't 'playing' on BTV. The channels were there but only a message saying "No signal" was displayed at the top. I autosearched to see if it was a problem at my end and they were still there with the same message afterwards (They came back on by themselves sometime later).
My problem is that the Asian Food Channel (AFN channel 80) is no longer there. It's gone.
I've been retuning and searching online all day and am none the wiser.
So firstly is anyone else out there on BTV still getting AFN and if so does anyone have any advise on how I could get it back?
Thank you in advance!

Any local store should have a large plunger for sale - I think I paid 50 baht for one in Bueang Khan which certainly helped clear the air.
Try asking around the local community shops prior to going to Tesco or any other multinational shops - it was really easy for me and it's about half the height of me too!

Thanks guys - you should get a medal or some sort of official recognition for your work on these boards
It would seem that the 1 year extension part is the area overlooked by my Thai hosts regarding full and proper processing.
I highly doubt I can have it all organised by tomorrow, however now I know, I can cross the border and start the process properly and instigate the 1 year extension part once I've gotten a new 3 months visa.
I may do a quick jaunt around SEA over Christmas and so will go for the multiple re-entry.
Thank you so much for making it make sense to me - I couldn't understand the part about being permitted to volunteer here for a year but having to cross the border every 90 days, now I see it's an oversight and will hopefully rectify it due to your assistance.
A proper big thanks again! :jap:

Thanks Iopburi3!
I have a Non-Immigrant type O, single entry, visa issued at Vientiane in April which is good for 90 days. This was required for me to get a 'work permit' which is a little card booklet with various stamps on it all in Thai. The booklet was issued at the Nong Khai department of work office.
I have been told that to keep my permission to stay in the Kingdom alive I must get a re-entry visa (multiple or single) from inside Thailand and leave the country every 90 days and then re-enter. On every occasion I do the little booklet gets updated permitting me another 90 days stay.
I hope I am clear enough with my interpretation of this and thank you again for your time in dealing with this.

Hi all,
I'll be coming into Nong Khai tomorrow with the hopes of getting a multiple re-entry visa which will supplement my volunteer work permit which is good until next April 2011.
I've been told that I need to cross the border every 90 days and that a multiple re-entry is cheaper in the long run than paying for a single every 90 days.
Firstly is this correct information and do I get the exit/re-entry permit/visa at Friendship Bridge or is there an office elsewhere which facilitates this?
It says the 22nd June on my passport so I'll be doing this tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for any and all help with this, and for generally supplying great advise all round.

Wow! There is loads of information here. It's going to take me until Summer to get through even half of it.
Hello everyone, I am looking to spend some time helping out in Thailand after the Summer and am just browsing at the moment. I don't really know what else to say as it's all a bit overwhelming at the moment.
Maybe see you around one of the towns for a drink
