Often, prevention cost less than the hospital... Xiaomi has many models, and cheap filter replacement.
Also, many foreigners are living, and selling second hand purifier. Changing or cleaning the filter is not that expensive , at least on Xiaomi models.
The fan trick works. You can do same for the air-cond (at least just use the fan if money is a problem), and put Filtrete inside. Works also for the cabin air filter in the car !
Good luck

Hi,
I have an old air-cond, in a rented apartment...
Compressor has been tested and cleaned, it is OK. I had an offer 2 years ago to replace the evaporator by a new one, around 5,000thb ++ (brand Samsung for the old one).
I don't find anymore the contact company. Do you know in Chiangmai some companies able to sell and install only this part ?
Thanks
Phil.

Stablecoins bought elsewhere you still incur 15% tax on sale, they have thought about that!
Sorry, English is not my native language but, to be sure to understand ... what do you mean by "stablecoins bought somewhere" ... you have bitcoins, you exchange to stablecoins ... you don't "buy" it ... Now if you sold your USDT to USD or even THB ... maybe you occur the tax ... am I right ? Or do you need to transfer to your Thai bank account ?

If you are tax resident and sell crypto the following applies...
If you bought them on a registered Thai exchange you pay income tax on the profit
Or
If you bought them overseas or cannot prove you bought them here, you pay 15% tax on the full sales value when you submit a tax return
Hi ... and by selling, you mean ... selling to USD or THB, and./or money transfer to your Thai Bank account ... but not exchanging to stablecoins (or other cryptos) on exchange ...

Yep , If you arrive in Thailand on March 18, you should live on April 17 max. Change your Vietnam flight to 1 or 2 weeks before ... anyway you will not use it ... or buy another one. This "could" (or not) be a problem at Bangkok Immigration ...
Good luck

I was just reading the other day that the pollution isn’t bad in Chiang Mai this year?
Can’t get grab at the airport to town?Does it ever take longer than 30mins from airport to Nimman? Wouldn’t want to miss my
flight. Maps is showing circa 20 mins?
shangri la day passes seem reasonable

Bad air just coming last night, not sure about tomorrow.20mn / 30mn trip : it all depends ... Cannot be exact. If you have a 7h break, 10mn more or less will not make much more difference.
Grab FROM the airport can be "tricky" and maybe not much cheaper. Also, you often have to take it outside. Grap App shows "Drop off only" ... so ...Taxis are on the left, 150thb, and off you go
ShangriLa is a nice place and quite easy access to the highway, but outside city center. If you wanna stay there, that's cool.

With the nice polluted air coming just today, a refreshing indoor place could be more reasonable than wandering in a park/garden ... 😉
Also take care of the traffic on Saturday afternoon near the airport. That's not Bangkok but it can be a little bit busy. Check Google Map 1 or 2 hour before.
Maya / Nimman are not far but the city center is also quite close, we are not in Bangkok 😉
150Thb to go to the city from airport. You can take a Grab car to go back. Plenty of massage shops from 300 to 3,000 thb. Enjoy !

You need to be mobile . Except some islands as Samui maybe, far from everything, smoke/dust are moving with the wind. And it depends also from one year to another. I would say, a windy place near the beach, as Phuket or Samui. Smoke can come from Indonesia also in Phuket, which does not affect Samui. But find a good compromise, and be ready to move 2 months during the year if necessary. But yes, humidity and quite clean air is better than dry and polluted air for asthma. So ... islands it is !

After login the new TM 30 website add the foreigner and send, only see In Progress. WhenI tried a second time there was the notification duplicate data. Is there normally an email or something coming to confirm yhe notification?
Normally yes, you have a mail confirmation. But anyway wait 1 or 2 days, to see if the final validation/refusal comes through ... if you are doing this many days in advance. Screenshot is always a good idea , and check also your spam/junk folder.

Currently I'm paying 700 baht/month to 3BB for home internet.
But I also have internet in the telephone, which costs me 2000 Baht/year.
So I could just share my mobile internet at the home and stop paying 3BB?
But your mobile contract has a limit in Gb/month no ? Limit that normally we don't have on a router (3BB or else) - Also payment via mobile app, confirmed and easy.

I think the cancellation of work permit and Visa B extension is done the same day. Can't you have your new visa before cancellation (maybe make a deal with your supplier) ? Just asking ...
Also, you should have 7 days if no mistake to leave the country but if you have a new employment, you can try to see how immigration office can help you (maybe giving some extension), good luck.

From next year:
If its stablecoins that are earned before 1/1/23 then it's 'savings', if after it's income.
If crypto it's Income Tax + Withholding Tax + fee(s).
Income tax based on what ? What are the rules ? Staking rules ? Token swap rules ? Capital gain ? Retroactive on how many years ? I can see the complexity of European crypto regulation rules, but at least, we "can" understand how the calculation is done and some companies as Waltio can help you with nice tools to report to tax office ... but in Thailand, what are the official rules for next year as it seems to change quite often ?

This happened to me after spending 2 days in a hotel. Hotel registered me in Bangkok, not my normal address.
I registered again my TM30, back home, then I was able to do my 90 days...
Maybe this helps, maybe not 😉

I believe this applies to Thai nationals only, foreigner nationals are already taxed in their home country
There are foreigners working here, paying income tax here and sometimes bringing some oversea money to fill the gap ... so Yes I am eagerly waiting to know more ???? . So not only Thai nationals.

BYD Seal Prices announced in Europe at the Munich motor show
The BYD Seal is offered in two versions in Europe with starting prices of 44,900 euros ($48,210) ฿1.7m for the 82.5kW RWD and 50,990 euros ($51,675) ฿1.8m for the AWD performance. These prices should be lower in Thailand due cheaper shipping costs and Government incentives here.
The BYD Seal is currently available in five versions in China with a starting price range of RMB 189,800 ($26,000) ฿926k for the 61.4kWh RWD to RMB 279,800 ($38,300) ฿1.36m for the AWD performance model
Still no word of the official Thai price.

There are so many scary videos about burning BYD in China, I would not trust it yet, but this is just a personal opinion (included one news, recently in Thailand). I am not sure why only BYD and not other EV brand-names as ORA, Good Cat, seeing so many of them on Thai roads.

Hello,
Anyone knows a good mechanic in Chiangmai, for an old Mazda 2 2011. We need to check the AC blower motor fan, and other stuff. For those small repairs, I would not like to go to Mazda official place, as they're already speaking about changing all air-cond system.
Any other recommendation welcome.
Thai or English speaking (other than Pro-Auto that I contacted already)
Thanks

For information, I register for 90 days online on Last Tuesday, waiting for confirmation as usual it takes only 1 day ... but not this time ... on the following Saturday, I had to go to Bangkok and so I checked-in at the hotel.
My application was rejected on Sunday as I was "registered in Bangkok" and not in my original province ???? Just FYI, this kind of things can happened if you travel (even domestic) a lot.
Then I did it in 1mn directly to CM Immigration drive-thru without any problem this Monday to be sure (after having done my TM30 again in CNX in the morning).

Hi,
Just use Grab , or Grab Taxi. Grab Taxi will bring you a yellow taxi cab, as you book on arrival in CNX Airport. You can book in advance, price is around 120-150thb. I usually book a GRAB SUV for the family when going to airport with luggage.
Cheers,
Phil.
